@sean09764512 @larryhostawards@mmpadellan Want to sound clever? Fail.
Democracy simply means rule by the people, by the population, in Greek. The constitution literally starts with 'We the People'.
Electoral college or not, America's leaders are chosen by votes by the People. You might want to keep it that way.
Clown!
@Fredros_Inc Sure, capacity building in the disease'endemic countries is essential for many reasons
Among which, talented, western-trained African scientists need to be able to put their skills to work and build research teams on their countries. This is happening but far more is needed.
@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz You CHOOSE not to believe that climate change is man made, and try to bend all arguments and evidence to your preferred outcome. It is the opposite of science and doesn't work!
Believing in Santa does not guarantee you get your Christmas wish list.
I am pleased to announce the establishment of an African Bioinformatics Institute thanks to funding from Wellcome Trust and CZI. We seek stakeholder input to shape the ABI to meet the needs of the bioinformatics and user communities. Join us for engagement sessions to contribute.

I don't know who you work for but it is clear that you are deliberately spreading lies and misinformation about climate science. While the Southeast of the USA is being destroyed by a succession of near-unprecendented destructiveness. Shame on you!
@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz Straight up misinformation and nonsense.
The reflection from any ensuiong clouds will NOT compensate for the greenhouse-driven warming. All this has been included in the climate models. And before you rubbish those, they have current trends spot-on, incl more severe storms.
@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz I tried - it is pseudo-scientific babble, designed to confuse and sow doubt on the actual scientific evidence as published properly. You have no reputable source, nothing peer reviewed here. As I thought.
"DRILL BABY DRILL" is infantile.
Grow up!
@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz In what ways has the science changed?
I am not fear-mongering, nor radical, but there are things that can sensibly be done and should be.
Also no 'Dem'. Dutch scientist based in UK. No political agenda, just objective, sensible.
@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz And meanwhile continue to Drill, Baby, Drill, right?
When my house is on fire I don't pour gasoline on it, because I have already phoned the fire brigade and in due course they will arrive to put it out. The damage is real, current and irreversible. Phasing-out has to start NOW.
Must-see video about the importance of the right to peaceful protest. No society is free or can remain free without it.
The Labour government MUST reverse the repressive Braverman laws if they are to have any credibility regarding governing for the people, with their consent.
It’s time for Labour to remember its roots and reinstate the right to peaceful protest.

@seveneyes33@peacick3@jua30628@JoJoFromJerz All those words to say "Drill baby dril, MAGA."
Another way to say "carry on maxing out on oil production because some future technology will fix it all, trust me!!"
It's lullaby: don't you worry, go to sleep...
And don't look up.
@seveneyes33@JoJoFromJerz AI told you that, did it?
The scientific consensus is clear and overwhelming: climate change IS driven by the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. We are in effect burning the accumulated carbon of millions of years of forest in 150 years. Not that complicated.
@Making_of_a_Mom@sigiumETH@NbergWX Maybe if people instead turned to science and the known solutions to climate change, that would be more helpful than praying to a non-existent deity! There is cause and there is effect, as can be calculated and predicted. Hotter oceans cause stronger storms, it's simple. DUH!
@EliSJThore@UNamur Excellent news Eli, very happy to hear this and confident of your success at Namur.
I hope for quite a few collaborations through OneHealthDrugs.
Today marks exactly 25 years since I started as a PI at the University of Glasgow with a Wellcome Trust Research Career Development Fellowship to investigate drug transporters in Trypanosoma brucei.
I have since expanded a little beyond that topic. Remains an honour to work here.
