Not every person in Nigeria's tech ecosystem is on stage.
Some are building teams that keep startups alive. Others are creating brands people trust, leading operations, growing communities, hiring exceptional talent, or designing the systems that help companies scale.
Their work isn't always loud, but their impact is visible across the ecosystem.

Breaking into technical product roles doesn’t always mean you need to learn how to code.
But it does mean you need to understand core technical concepts like APIs, tech stacks, and system architecture, speak your engineers’ language, weigh in on product feasibility with confidence.
That’s exactly what we’ll unpack in our next Treford Community Event: Moving from Non-Technical to Technical Product Roles.
We’ll be joined by two seasoned product leaders who’ve successfully bridged this gap:
📌 Chioma Udoh – Product Leader at Blakskill, Associate Director at Founders Institute Lagos & angel investor driving innovation across Africa.
📌 David Unuane – Scrum Master/Product Manager at Credo Solutions LLC with deep expertise in Lean-Agile Product Management and bridging tech & business.

Leading edtech platform @trefordafrica, co-founded by Harry Enaholo and Toyin Olasehinde, is evolving.
Treford’s journey began in 2019 with physical training in Ibadan to get people into tech. “We had plans to go to other cities in 2020—but then COVID happened,” @toyinvoldo notes.
Turns out COVID was a blessing, as the team pivoted to virtual learning and things have taken off since then.
Over 50 cohorts done and thousands trained, the company has set its sights on its next phase.
“We’ve moved from a situation where the biggest challenge was getting people into tech, to one where companies need people who can move the needle,” explains @HarryEnaholo.
By last year, 70% of participants were no longer newcomers trying to break into tech, but established professionals looking to close specific skill gaps.
So, what's next for Treford?
Losing my X account and not being able to recover it really did make me fall out of love with coming here. Will try to summon the founder in me to rebuild here too 😅
I sat with the @thecondia team this week to discuss the next phase of our mission with the launch of our new programs at @trefordafrica :
Our goal is to fill the mid to senior-level talent gap created by the exodus of our best talents in the ecosystem.

Studying case studies on Cregital platform in the 2010s was a vital part of my early product education as a newbie in tech & I think this applies to lots of Nigerian designers, devs and product folks from 2010s. Happy birthday @evansakanno . Thank you 🙏
Excited about the start of the next phase of our journey at @trefordafrica to help more Africans and Immigrants at large become truly global citizens contributing to the growth of global economies with their skills. Looking forward to doing this with our friends at @Pay4meapp.

How did you move from entry to mid and then to senior level in your tech career? At what point did you know you were now a mid or senior level talent? Was it Years of work? Scale of work done? What framework do you use for progression in your career currently?
Working multiple tech jobs is not a new practice but please try to understand your capacity to handle multiple jobs before taking them. We are all wired differently when it comes to work and pressure threshold. So you don't end up losing both jobs in this economy. 🩷 &💡
We had the privilege of interviewing two of the most decorated product leaders from Africa in @kdxxl & @rogernort during @nocodesummit . This video captures some of the key and fun moments between two of the best minds from African tech scene. Enjoy 😇
