🚨 NEW: The French Government has launched an investigation after 4x4 vehicles funded by the UK to stop migrants crossing the Channel were used to ram student protestors

Fantastic lecture by Adam Wagner KC on how he represented British hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. How shocking though that security at @CityStGeorges allowed for these useful idiots to walk in with keffiyehs hiding their identity, leaving many in the room to feel intimidated.
Interestingly a lot of the countries accepting emirate diplomats still refuse to recognise the emirate. But accept officials on a quid pro quo basis.
Uzbekistan accepts them so they can build a railway, and Germany accepts them so they can begin deporting Afghans.
Just checked up on this and the Taliban stopped accepting documents from rebel embassies and now a bunch of countries that don’t recognize the Taliban let them run embassies.
This feels a bit too Twee Britain (not to mention the red tunics are a mess).
A far more serious and aesthetically driven country would employ No.1 dress here.
I can't tell you how many Welsh voters complained about Rishi Sunak's performence on the NHS.
A lot of them even asked me why it wasnt devolved! They were always shocked it had been for decades
This is exactly the problem with devolution in the UK: devolved govts and mayors want all the power and none of the responsibility.
Campaigning in Wales, I found the Welsh Lab gov deliberately obscured who was responsible for public services.
@ClwydEnComu Im more hopeful with Plaid, I think they do want to distinguish Welsh gov from UK.
Welsh Lab though made a living out of blaming everything on Westminster and playing pretend politics while standards plummetted

Exclusive:
Labour mayors are revolting against Andy Burnham’s plan to give them control over water companies.
Several mayors have made it known to No10 that the PM’s plans for regional water boards — revealed in @telegraph and confirmed in his speech last week — would put them “in the firing line” for underperformance.
Sources close to the discussions say some mayors would rather be left out of one of the most politically toxic issues in Britain.
It’s the first sign of trouble for Burnham’s wider devolution agenda on water.
What happens when you give people more power but they don’t want it?
