We’ve found ourselves with the same problem as football.
The Messi/Ronaldo era which lasted 15-odd years effectively makes everyone look worse through cross-generation comparisons.
Sure there are top talents everywhere but now that we’ve seen peak footballing performance, I watch the sport with different eyes now.
Same situation in F1 2025.
We’ve become so used to drivers like Verstappen, Hamilton, Schumacher dominating the sport as well as Alonso pulling off literal miracles in his prime that anything in comparison looks worse.
Norris and Piastri are still quality drivers.
my hot take is that pecco didn’t get worse, there’s just riders who are better on suitable machinery now who take the top spots he usually occupied when no one better was around
To the man who never needed a crown to walk like a king.
To the man who proved that greatness isn’t measured in gold, but in grit.
To the man who made resilience look like art.
Feliz cumpleanos, El Nano.
Happy birthday, Fernando Alonso.
Oh how I miss watching El Pistolero.
My favorite stat of all time is that he never finished on a podium of a grand tour that he didn’t win. King of ciclismo.
