Privileged to be a small part of the brilliant @afPE_PE#PEMatters Autumn journal. I discussed the importance of South Asian female role models, after our children had the opportunity to meet one of our own role models in @abtaha_m Big thanks to @carolhawman #InclusionMatters ⭐️
Please prioritise water safety in your swimming curriculums & take this back into the classroom. Use an assembly time, circle time, whatever means necessary to push the message.

Terribly tragic news with a body found in Cheshire which is now the eighth person to have died in a water related incident this week.
The heat does not change ANY risks of open water swimming. Please be safe in and around water no matter how tempting it is to go in the water.
I urge all parents, schools and anyone else working with children and young people to continue to educate and push the message.
Cold water shock, underwater currents, not being able to perceive the depth and debris underneath can all lead to serious incidents like we’ve seen.
@LincsSESSP Hi. Where did I blame anyone? I’m not denying this at all, my tweet wasn’t about blaming anyone, merely just having a bit of empathy. Not here to bash anyone. I’ve tweeted several times in the past about how shocking it is that schools misspend what is children’s money 👍
Regarding the PE premium - spare a thought to the young sports coaches out there who probably have had a night full of anxiety and uncertainty regarding their job.
A position no one should be in with the premium usage, but most definitely will be.
Huge news with PE and sport premium changes as it will be pulled / revamped for next academic year.
Can’t say I’m surprised - writing was on the wall for a while. Although not sure this is the right approach…
Potentially encouraging news with capital funding however 👍
@ScottHKR27 Agreed, poor from the start with children massively let down. Although Gove scrapping the school sport partnerships in 2010 was just shocking - PESSCL strategy was miles better than the PE premium mess.
FIRST TIME IN HISTORY.
Sutton United Football Club — promoted to Step 5, MFL Premier Division.
WOW. WOW. WOW.
Unbelievable scenes in that sold-out away end… pure magic.
We couldn’t have done it without every single one of you.
History made. 💚⚽️
You're delivering a PE lesson in primary school. You need to get the children into teams of say 4/5.
What's your go to method that works quickly, efficiently and keeps the flow of the lesson?

Ok primary school teachers...
If/when you teach PE, and if you follow a scheme:
- how soon before the lesson do you look at the lesson?
- do you need/have anything with you in the lesson, such as the plan to support you?

@ThePEUmbrella The more time goes on the more convinced I am it’s been a disaster. It concerns me massively how some schools seem to be in a worse condition despite 12 (!!!) years of funding. Just one glance at that Facebook PE leaders group is enough 😅
@ThePEUmbrella Inclusive PE I think is in a far better state - whether that’s ensuring SEND children are able to access learning or ensuring we are more understanding of different faiths and how to best accommodate needs in that sense.
The elephant in the room is obviously the PE premium…
@ThePEUmbrella Definitely… I’m guilty of the same. It’s a shame as I’ve lost touch with some really great people who don’t seem to use the app anymore 🙁. I’d love to get it going again but not sure how realistic that is!
