After losing last season’s Clásico in the 10th round, Ronald Araújo organized a gathering at his house with all the Barcelona players. They ate together because he saw that the team needed something like that to come together, rebuild their confidence, and get back on track.

A few days later, when Raphinha was unfairly left out of FIFA’s Team of the Year, Ronald Araújo was the only one who publicly defended him.

When Flick met with him and explained that he wasn’t suited to his style of play and that the best solution was for him to leave, Araújo immediately agreed. His decision also allowed the club to get rid of his huge salary.

He may not have been suited to Flick’s style. He may have played a major role in our Champions League exits on two occasions. But I could never bring myself to hate him.

Before you get excited about the Rodri news, you should stand up, give this man a standing ovation, and thank him until sunrise.

The moment Hansi Flick took charge of Barcelona, he immediately identified Marc-André ter Stegen as a major problem and told Deco the club needed to sign a reliable goalkeeper straight away, otherwise the team would be heading for disaster.

Deco brought in Joan García, and he turned out to be one of the biggest reasons Barcelona won La Liga. On top of that, Flick made the bold decision to move on from Ter Stegen, something no previous Barcelona manager had dared to do.

Then came Frenkie de Jong. After returning from the World Cup injured once again, Flick reportedly lost faith in him and pushed Deco to sign a proper defensive midfielder.

Whether the Rodri deal happens or not, Flick deserves enormous respect for challenging the long-standing culture of untouchable players at Barcelona. If he stays for many years, he’ll change a lot of things at the club that should have changed long ago.

Messi assisted Mbappe 20 times in 2 years...but this is even crazier, he gave only Mbappe 81 key passes. 81 key passes to just one player.

Messi had 35 assists in 75 appearances at PSG, and 32 goals.
