Every 24x7 banking service has a banker behind it and a family waiting at home. We agreed to the 5-day week in March 2024 and accepted longer weekday hours. The regulator, the insurer and the Government all work 5 days.
Our demand is just. The delay is not.

An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.
At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.
Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.
Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.
We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.

India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.

The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.

Structural inequities arising from the DFS scheme reinforce a hostile workplace and diminish unity in our workforce. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia

@aiboc_in Open Discrimination in name of PLI distribution is totally shocking in today's age. How can one justify different rules for distribution of PLI among different employees. Equality and uniformity is must for motivation and enthusiam among employees. Dont Discriminate or wll fight.
@aiboc_in Bankers are also human beings and have families. Let them also live. After defence, bank job has become the toughest n hardest job to do. 5 Day banking is a must.

A shorter banking week can help modernize our work culture, attracting new talent eager for a balanced lifestyle. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/43xDpYwQBM
A rested workforce serves the public better. With staff shortages and rising stress, 5-day banking is a service-quality issue, not a “perk.” UFBU has pursued this since 2015; IBA has recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and it’s included in the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024), pending clearances.
Let’s finish what’s already agreed.

Govt/DFS: enough of “under consideration”. Honour the 8-3-2024 Settlement on #5DayBanking. Bankers are battling understaffing, extreme pressure & mental stress, yet face discrimination vs RBI/LIC/GIC. We will mobilise until justice is delivered. #5DayBankingNow
