NGO 'Animals Are People Too' files application in the #SuprmeCourt seeking clarification that the direction allowing euthanasia is not a mandate for "indiscriminate culling of dogs".

The NGO seeks clarification that euthanasia can be carried out only in limited circumstances, striclty in terms of the ABC Rules 2023, after due verification by the experts.
They also seek direction to all State DGPs to ensure that no dog is unwlawfully killed or poisoned.
Animal welfare group "Animals are People too" moves #SupremeCourt seeking urgent clarification of its May 19 stray dog judgment, warning the ruling is being misread as a green light for mass killings.

Patriots,
Very soon, we look forward to welcoming you to the sacred land of Balochistan for the blessed darshan of Hinglaj Mata Temple where faith meets history, and where the soul finds peace beneath the eternal skies of Balochistan.
A breathtaking and emotional moment unfolded at the sacred Hinglaj Mata Temple as the new flag rose proudly into the skies of Balochistan, fluttering with dignity, faith, and centuries of spiritual heritage. This was not merely the raising of a flag it was the awakening of history, culture, and an unbreakable bond of devotion.
Hinglaj Mata Temple, nestled in the timeless mountains of Balochistan, stands as one of the holiest spiritual sanctuaries for Hindus and a powerful symbol of the deep cultural and spiritual connection between Balochistan and India. For generations, pilgrims have carried their prayers, hopes, and faith to this sacred land.
The people of the Republic of Balochistan extend their hearts with warmth, respect, and brotherhood to Hindu devotees across the world.

Sacrificing cow not part of Eid: Calcutta High Court rejects plea against cattle slaughter restrictions

Normally, I do not comment on Supreme Court judgements and only those who have a case can speak. But if a judgement is given against voiceless animals, then one has to raise their voice.
The court order is not practical, it is inhuman. Who will decide whether a stray dog is dangerous and it should be administered the death injection?
I feel, the court order will open up the gates of atrocities on voiceless stray dogs. Animal activist Menaka Gandhi's suggestion is right. If the State wants to lower the number of stray dogs, there should be a massive sterilization and vaccination drive for such homeless animals.
I would rather prefer the apex court to direct all state governments to start this on a war footing. https://t.co/Ig3seXU8Pf
A Pak-backed spy, Zafar Riaz @ Rizvi of Kolkata, has been arrested in an espionage racket, in which he was engaged in clandestinely passing confidential security-related information to Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs) as part of an anti-India terror conspiracy.
#BREAKING: West Bengal Government issues order making Vande Mataram singing compulsory in all Madarsas of the state. Vande Mataram singing already was made compulsory in all schools of West Bengal during morning prayers.
A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during #OperationSindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour.
Operation Sindoor reflected India’s firm response against terrorism and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security. It also highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of our armed forces. At the same time, it showcased the growing jointness among our forces and underlined the strength that India’s quest for self-reliance in the defence sector has brought to our national security.
Today, a year later, we remain as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem.

CJI Surya Kant. Furnish reply as to why bar license should not be cancelled and be restrained from practicing as a lawyer. If the advocate does not co-operate let bailable warrants be issued against him. Let him also place his law degree on record on the next date.
The parable of the blind men and the elephant perfectly illustrates the various solutions proposed for the malaises plaguing our legal system.
It is extremely difficult for the common man to understand the strange way our justice delivery system functions. He is told that the multiple fora of appeal are the primary reason for the mounting arrears. He has no idea that if he invokes the writ jurisdiction of the Bombay High Court and if his writ petition is dismissed in limine, he has no forum to appeal. He can seek leave to appeal to the SC under Article 136. There is no right of appeal, and in actual practice, almost all SLPs are dismissed in a hearing which, on an average, lasts for 93 seconds. Assuming that you had an excellent case where the evidence which you could lead would have established your rights, you had lost because you were denied your right to adduce evidence. In short, you had a valuable right, but that was lost because your lawyer ill-advised you to invoke Article 226 instead of instituting a civil suit. This is a great injustice. But you would not have realised it if you had not come across this message.
A lecture on the topic “Waqf Board: Present Status and Future” was organized by Shri Yogi Sanskrutik Manch, Suhrud Mitra Mandal, and Umda Samaj Vikas Pratishthan, where I had the opportunity to share my views.
The new Waqf Act, 2025 has been enacted with the objective of bringing greater transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties. It aims to curb illegal practices, ensure inclusive national interest, and deliver justice to individuals, especially women.
Despite there being no objectionable provisions in the Act, it is being opposed due to politically motivated reasons. During my address, I explained all key provisions of the Act, highlighted the need for reforms in the earlier framework, and elaborated on the importance of these measures. I also urged citizens to take a firm and fearless stand in support of what is in the nation’s best interest.
On this occasion, Dr. Milind Dugad, Dr. Shripad Dabak, Seema Dabak, Ravi Kulkarni, Jayant Jeste, Ramesh Joshi, Keshav Joshi, Vishwanath Godbole, Rekha Chandavaskar, Urvashi Bhumkar, along with Shri Subhash Jagtap, Corporator Sai Thopte, Corporator Shailaja Bhosale, and a large number of citizens were present.

It is unfortunate that @GautamKhattar and his younger brother, Madhav Khattar, have been arrested in hate speech case by the Goa Police, who appear to have acted with unusual speed and aggression. Many Hindus believe they are not criminals but have spoken what they see as the truth. The Inquisition remains a dark chapter of Goa’s history that deserves discussion even today. Everyone should speak up on this issue. We cannot accept such high-handed actions.

Just a day after the landmark Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala verdict, the Congress government, in a blatant show of power and authoritarianism, overturned the long-standing convention of seniority.
Three senior-most judges were superseded:
* J. M. Shelat
* K. S. Hegde
* A. N. Grover
Their fault was simple. They stood with the Constitution, placing limits on unchecked power. In their place, A. N. Ray was appointed as Chief Justice, ignoring seniority and sending a clear message that loyalty was being valued over independence.
This was not routine governance. This was retaliation. A direct attempt to bend the judiciary after it refused to bend the Constitution.
