Time series analysis at @dotnetsheff with @HartleyHacks took me back to uni days! Amazing presentation of Fourier Transformations usage on a time series!
Thanks to Hackaday for featuring my recent sonic screwdriver project on their blog! Always great to see a project I'm proud of out in the world :D As an update, I'm still running around my house turning things on and off with the screwdriver, the novelty hasn't worn off yet!
After finishing my recent sonic screwdriver project, I've just headed over to @hackaday@hackadayio to write up and document the build process.

It's done! Just published my first video/blog combo in a couple of months. Find out how I made my own sonic screwdriver to control plug sockets around my house... wirelessly! What do you think of it? all the circuitry and code is open source too :) https://t.co/MiH5zMHlLW
Every failed print is a lesson learned! In this case, using the default zig-zag supports didn't do the job - had to switch to grid-shaped supports and add a raft for additional strength and bed adhesion.
Decided to do some 3D design this afternoon - finishing up a Sonic Screwdriver project I started before Christmas - can't wait to get this one printed, it's a custom circuit board and a bespoke 3D printed casing!

What an evening!
@histevemedia Wow that's a crazy improvement! My switch on times are around 10 minutes at the moment. Even if it was like 3 minutes, that would be awesome. Glad you managed to squeeze a bit more life out of yours :)
@don_hein Yeah this is a great shout, thanks for the knowledge. Part of me wants to start clean to avoid just copying over all of the rubbish I've installed over the years. However, the convenience of just copying over to a new, fast drive is very tempting.
@don_hein Not yet! I wanted to try out the new RAM/battery first and then have the option to add an SSD. Unfortunately, I've found that even after the upgrade, disk speed is the rate-limiting step. Did you just copy your current hard drive contents over to an SSD?
