Today in Science, we have been investigating which forces impact on certain objects. We started with gravity and buoyancy, and then moved to gravity and air resistance. #Science#HHAScience@hartsholmeacad#fairtest#forces
For #WorldBookDay, Year 5 played ‘Where’s Wally?’ in their classrooms! We played each round twice, and it ended in a draw! Some great hiding places! We can’t wait to go and read with @Harts_Y1 later also! @Harts_Reading#WBD2023
We are reading 'The Boy at the Back of the Class’ and we are loving it! Here are some of our reviews:
'I am finding it inspiring, especially with the issues with Ukraine'
'It is a good lesson to give new children space when they join a new school' @Harts_Reading@hartsholmeacad
In maths this morning, Year 5 have been investigating and making square numbers. We then starting to ponder if there were perhaps any patterns, and we realised the gap between the square numbers increased by 2 each time!! @hartsholmeacad#HHAMaths
Soluble or insoluble? That was our question for our Science investigations. Using prior knowledge of dissolving, we made predictions and then put them to the test, ensuring we maintained ‘fair tests’ for all the different materials. @hartsholmeacad@HarbourLearning#HHAScience
This afternoon, Year 5 have been using historical sources to learn about Tutankhamun (The Boy King), and have then created these fantastic fact files to show off their new learning! #HHAHistory@hartsholmeacad@HarbourLearning
Following our fantastic designs in Art last week, we are now starting to papier mâché our Egyptian death masks. Here is a fantastic example of the ‘scissor technique’ which removes the excess glue and water. @hartsholmeacad@HarbourLearning#HHAArt
@Year1Hartsholme @Harts_Y2 Thanks for letting some of the @HartsholmeYear5 team come and look at fantastic art talent on show! We certainly learnt A LOT about vegetables as well! #art#vegetables
5M had their first swimming session of the year, and it was wonderful to see the effort, confidence and enthusiasm from each swimmer! Well done 5M! @hartsholmeacad@HarbourLearning#swimming
