@JimJones1425 But that’s standard at all clubs. There will be lists of players that the manager, DOF, scouts etc will all go through. It’s normal to a new manager to still be offered the same players as the old manager. The only issue is if the manager says no and they are signed anyway
@JimJones1425 Oh so you made up that RDZ didn’t want him then? So why can’t a club suggest a player to a manager and he agree? It’s not possible for more than one manager to want a player?
@JimJones1425 Doesn’t he? How do you know he doesn’t want him?
Also it’s utterly insane to suggest any club is paying £70m for Van Hecke in the last year of his contract. Such a ridiculous suggestion
@JimJones1425 So the rumours were that Brighton wanted £70m. So just pay it? So what about Savinho, City say right another £70m we just pay it. Never negotiate, just pay whatever a club asks. You don’t think that’s a ridiculous suggestion?
🚨 Crystal Palace want a staggering £100 million for midfield maestro Adam Wharton.
That fee is putting moves from Liverpool and Chelsea on hold.
A fair price?
@reluctantnicko
@BarryB27095@TheSpursWatch@szyexcl But everyone knows the player is for sale and wanted. Also Brighton don’t need to sell yet. Their hope will be they start a bidding war, hence why they’ve come out and told everyone about the bids
@BarryB27095@TheSpursWatch@szyexcl Not particularly. He’s got 1 year left. They might have said they want £70m which they are never getting. If we then bid £45m then £50m for example that’s not lowballing. That’s sensible
@DCAalltheway@TStoop It matters in terms of a ProV1 to a TruFeel for example. But the differences between the ‘premium’ balls is so small. Then the difference to the next level is tiny. Strike plays a huge part in distance and spin and the vast majority won’t notice a difference
@Don_Falcone2@Daily_Hotspur@danjhodges03@BBCSport Of course but it all depends how much they need the money vs what they believe he can deliver. If they’ve let believe having him now gets them Europe for example they may well keep him. Equally if other clubs are interested they could easily wait and see what offers they get
@Don_Falcone2@Daily_Hotspur@danjhodges03@BBCSport Depends how much they need the money. They can hold out until they get a replacement or until they decide they are ready to sell him. If they’ve let him get down to his final year, they must have had an idea of keeping him and letting him go for fee next summer
@JaiP72 Always a tricky one when a player is in the last year of contract though. Brighton will want him replaced but also will wonder whether it’s better to keep him for another season. Depends what the offer is, obviously the reported figure Brighton want is nonsense
@talkSPORT@piersmorgan How is this even a thing? Who actually cares? A fairly famous journalist gets on the pitch. You’d think Piers had been given a chance to play in the game. State of this conversation
@craig_dw@PhilR2025@ChampionshipYid Of course. But it’s not as black and white as that. I don’t really know why Pep signed him. I know he’s kind of a Mahrez replacement but so few flair players thrive under him. That’s not to say he’ll be great but don’t think anyone should write him off
@PhilR2025@craig_dw@ChampionshipYid Absolutely. He could be an unbelievable signing or shit none of us know. But not too many flair players thrive under Pep. Even the likes of Grealish, went there had a decent season and then they wanted him out.
@craig_dw@PhilR2025@ChampionshipYid I think it’s difficult to say how good he is either way. Not really had a proper run at City. Looks like a player who needs a run of games and the ability to play with freedom. But on here it’s either extreme. He either has to be amazing or utter toilet. No in between
@MuddyYid Yeah totally get that. I’d assume Bergvall would be the one to go out. But seems odd having a player who’s been a regular then dipped out then goes out on loan. I know he’s young and had injuries but does seem a bit of a strange situation
If this is true and we are getting another top midfielder, we desperately need midfielders out the door.
Gray, Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall, Gallagher, Maddison, Xavi, Hackney plus 1 more?? 9 central midfielders is a lot…
#Tottenham are expected to make a formal move for Hayden Hackney this summer!
The midfielder looks certain to leave Middlesbrough, with Crystal Palace expected to make a formal move and Manchester United also set to join the battle.
[@Scottwilsonecho] 🥇 / 🥈
@JaiP72@pokeefe1 I think he’d be a really good signing but has to be as well as someone else. We’d also desperately need to get rid of midfielders if he comes in. Gray, Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall, Gallagher, Hackney and potentially one other all for those 2 spaces behind Maddison/Xavi
