@MatthewStadlen and in their first few months go after pensioners, farmers and people who pay for their own childrens eduction to raise a minute amount extra in tax, while giving huge public sector pay rises
@WaratahJT@_RobbieMoore 5) the government when in opposition said they would make no changes to APR/BPR, but they did, but I suppose they are good at I turns
@WaratahJT@_RobbieMoore 4) many farmers have no issue with the changes made to apr/BPR but there was no outside consultation of the changes, and given 18 months to plan for changes in a tax system that has been in place for nearly 40 years have left many with very difficult choices to make
@WaratahJT@_RobbieMoore 1) Thick...bit harsh
2) Yet again it's the "Goldilocks" situation, everything has to line up perfectly to get those reliefs to work, the same reliefs available to all businesses not just farming
3) farmers are liable for the same tax as everyone else on death
@WaratahJT@_RobbieMoore Farmers get the same tax treatment as those mentioned, nothing special, but medical professional don't have to sell the hospital they work in when they die to pay iht !
@LizOBrien237929@_RobbieMoore As in the "rest" of us you mean the less than 4% of the population that do ? Generational family business should be exempt from IHT
@DanNeidle This policy along with the removal of Apr/BPR are 2 of the most damaging things this government has done, education should not be taxed either should the primary producers of food
