From zero to a $4M market cap, and now consolidating between $500K and $600K, the AWF ETH CTO community continues to build.

Despite market fluctuations, the mission remains unchanged: supporting animal welfare through transparent, blockchain-powered donations.

Together, the community has helped generate more than 300 ETH in donations, including the recent 64 ETH donation from Vitalik himself. When he said he encouraged this initiative, the community answered that call and got to work.

Both Everyorg and Effective Altruism organizations have already confirmed receiving donations via email, and we hope public confirmations and recognition will follow soon.

Is Vitalik already watching what this community is accomplishing?

Regardless, the community remains united, working every day toward the same goal: proving that crypto can be a force for good and create real-world impact for animals.

Day 28: Bandit the Guardian

This incredible story, which took place in 2017 in Kentucky (USA), made many completely reconsider their attitude toward cattle and believe in the amazing sensitivity of animals.

An accident occurred on Robert Ingram's family farm when his 7 year old grandson inadvertently wandered into an open paddock. At that moment, a young breeding horse, known for its aggressive temperament, was inside. Startled by the child's sudden appearance, the stallion reared up, preparing to attack the boy with its powerful hooves. The situation unfolded in seconds, and the adults simply could not reach the pen in time.

Suddenly, a huge bull named Bandit, who had been peacefully grazing nearby, rushed to intercept the horse. The heavyweight Bandit slammed into the horse's side at full speed, forcing it to the far edge of the fence and literally blocking the path with his body.

While the bull bellowed fiercely, taking the brunt of the situation and holding the line, the terrified child managed to climb over the fence to safety. The farmer later admitted that Bandit had always been considered a very calm and phlegmatic animal, but at the critical moment, he showed a stunning, lightning-fast reaction to shield a defenseless human.

We recently received emails from the EA Funds team confirming that they have received information regarding the donations and are currently reviewing our project. They mentioned that the donations are unusual and requested information about who we are, where we are based, and whether we are a registered fundraising organization.

If possible, please help communicate the following to the Animal Welfare Fund administration:

AWF ETH CTO is a global, decentralized Ethereum community composed of members, donors, supporters, and investors from many countries around the world. We do not have a centralized governing body; instead, we operate through trusted community contributors who voluntarily dedicate their time and effort to maintaining and growing the project.

What makes our donations unusual is that they are not traditional transfers from one wallet to another. The #AWF token's smart contract on Ethereum automatically collects a 2% fee from transactions, and those funds are automatically directed toward animal welfare initiatives through the same donation address that has also been used by Vitalik Buterin for his contributions to the Animal Welfare Fund.

We have also registered a transparent public campaign through Everyorg under the name AWF ETH CTO, where information about our community and mission is available.

Our hope is to establish a direct communication channel between the AWF ETH CTO community and EA Funds. Having a dedicated point of contact would help strengthen cooperation, improve transparency, and support the long-term sustainability of this donation mechanism.

We believe this project can serve as an example of how blockchain innovation can create perpetual charitable giving for important causes. None of this would be possible without Ethereum, the vision of Vitalik Buterin, and the example he has set through his support for animal welfare and effective philanthropy.

We are incredibly happy to see that EA Funds has taken notice of our community. With more than 305 ETH donated, plus the recent 64 ETH donation from Vitalik Buterin to the same Animal Welfare Fund address, it was only a matter of time before this unique initiative gained attention.

We responded to their email and introduced ourselves as AWF ETH CTO, a decentralized Ethereum community with thousands of members and supporters from around the world. All donations have been sent transparently to the same address used by Vitalik's donation, with every transaction publicly verifiable on-chain and tracked through our donation tools.

We hope that, once EA Funds fully understands how this donation mechanism works, they will publicly recognize this innovative and disruptive approach to charitable giving. As they themselves noted, these are "unusual donations" that require understanding. We believe blockchain technology is opening new possibilities for funding important causes in a transparent and sustainable way.

We would like to thank EA Funds for their mission and dedication to improving the world, and thank Vitalik Buterin for creating Ethereum and setting an example through his generosity. Without that vision, none of this would be possible.

今天想和大家聊聊“坚持”这件事。

有人每天盯盘到凌晨，有人每天画一幅画救助动物——同样是坚持，方向不同，意义也不同。

我们社区里有一位好兄弟@1WhaleDao，他已经是一个7岁女儿的父亲了。最近，他跟女儿讲了“动物福利基金”——这个基金资助世界各地的动物收容所，甚至还引起了@VitalikButerin的注意。当女儿得知人们正在齐心协力帮助动物时，她说的第一句话是：“爸爸，我怎样才能也帮助它们呢？”也许对成年人来说，这个项目夹杂了交易属性。但孩子的动机最纯粹、最纯真，她下意识想的是“如何帮助它们”。我相信，大家小时候甚至到现在，也都曾有过这样纯粹、纯真的想法。

于是，从5月18日开始，这位小姑娘发起了一场为期30天的“艺术马拉松”。在接下来的一个月里，她每天都会创作一幅以不同动物为主题的画作，希望能通过这件小小的事情，帮助拯救这些美丽的生灵。今天已经是第二十二幅了。也许这些画不够“美”，不够“艺术”，只有童趣。但每一幅画的背后，都是一个鲜活的故事。

比如这只叫巴尔托的狗，它的名字已经成为全球希望和忠诚的象征。1925年，一场致命的白喉疫情袭击了阿拉斯加的一个偏远小镇。拯救孩子们的唯一希望，是一瓶远在1000多公里之外的血清。在一场猛烈的冰暴中，气温骤降至零下45摄氏度，巴尔托带领雪橇队完成了最艰难的最后一段路程。当雪橇手的视线被白茫茫的雪雾完全遮蔽时，巴尔托仅凭嗅觉就找到了目的地。它及时将药品送到，挽救了数百条生命。巴尔托的故事告诉我们：即使是最渺小的生命，也能凭勇气改变世界。

还有1984年7月，美国德克萨斯州，一只才两个月大的小猪普里西拉，看到不会游泳的小男孩安东尼溺水后，立刻冲进湖里。尽管男孩的体重远远超过它，普里西拉还是拼命把他拖回浅水区，最终母子俩都得救了。它因此获得了美国人道协会的威廉·O·斯蒂尔曼奖，并成为德克萨斯州动物名人堂首位入选的猪。

这样温暖的人与动物的故事比比皆是，也正是我们想倡导的——动物，也应该被好好对待。

昨天，有一位兄弟回归了，买了4000美金的币，然后说了一句：“你们够可以的，竟然还在建设。”就凭这份执着，我只想说：AWF哪天起来了，这钱就该你们赚。这次我重新加入社区，在这里看到了和其他社区不一样的东西——只要有人在踏踏实实做事，金子总会发光。

今天，刚好是AWF成立一个月的日子。

社区从无到有，捐款从0走到了310个ETH。从联系基金会到现在，也许沟通有时差，但社区一直在努力，一直在坚持建设。基金会的回应、金额的确认，每一天都在进步。
