Sarfraz Bangulzai, aka Merid Baloch, a linchpin of Baloch separatist armed militancy and leader of Balochistan Nationalist Army (BNA) has announced his surrender along with 70 affiliates to the government of Pakistan in a press conference on Wednesday in Quetta, Balochistan. Bangulzai succeeded Gulzar Imam Shambay in April 2023 when the latter made a surrender following his arrest a year ago by Pakistani authorities.
