“Husband Is Useless” by Chinkemkasimma.
This is the first book I have judged by its cover, and I stand by my judgement.
I haven’t read the book, so I am judging strictly by the title. But from a semantic and conceptual standpoint, Husband Is Useless is an audacious sweeping generalisation.
The word “useless” denotes something ineffective, ineffectual, or devoid of utility.
If you say “Husband is useless,” you are not merely indicting an individual man; you are, by implication, challenging the institution, office, position, and title of “husband.”
There is a fundamental distinction between “My husband is useless” and “Husband is useless.”
The former condemns the occupant of the seat; the latter condemns the seat itself.
So, for the sake of semantic precision, I think she should rephrase the title to “My Husband Is Useless.”😁
Someone needs to explain to me how you somehow get more problems to solve as your income increases. The problems you had at your previous income level fit that income perfectly, then the income increases, and somehow, so do the problems. How the heck does that happen? 🥴
Your biggest mistake as a man will be marrying a woman whose criteria of a perfect couple is based on the marriages she sees online, not her parents, uncles, aunties & relatives.
You will NEVER be able to please her.
You still have plenty of time. Just remember to prioritise it as you get closer to the time. Suspend expenditures on cars, watches and gadgets. Also limit the charity you do.
When I was building, cement was N1,500 per bag. I automatically started to interpret “Abeg send me recharge card” as “Abeg send me one bag of cement.” Very sobering thought. 😀
