who is this guy pretending to be Ont premier? the same guy who disappeared for 6 months during covid? the same guy who keeps the legislature closed more than open, to avoid scrutiny? oh, its Election Ford, a completely different animal from Elected Ford. DON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!
@BonnieCrombie@fordnation its not about tariffs; it's about the federal situation, stabilized w Trudeau in charge til March 9 - Ford's last window to run with a 'hated' Liberal in Ottawa.
And everybody knows it, Dougie. Your advisers aren't geniuses (but they are evil).
why would anyone believe that we need an Ontario election because of the USA tariff threats?! 1) its a Federal issue, no matter what some pretend 2) Ford already has a mandate til 2026 3) he hasn't proposed any related policies for us to consider DON't GET FOOLED AGAIN
@jen_keesmaat user fees have a role in managing demand for public services - where that is desirable, and could be an option for road use - gas taxes are even better. Development charges are also a kind of user fee - they recover capital costs associated with growth related development.
when did our Premiers become responsible for foreign policy? we look like idiots when Smith and Ford meet with Trump, and they undermine those responsible. Why does the media not call them out?
Value of Canada building permits down 5.9% in November - Reuters : how can this be? Ford has given developers all the zoning they want, overturned heritage and environment protections, gutted municipal development fees, even invited them to his parties! https://t.co/nUlV8yL1ka
Ford government can now overrule conservation authorities on development permits (and municipalities using Ministerial overrides (114 times) or calling up the new 26 'strong (can overrule their elected councils) mayors' – vote for developers, vote Ford! https://t.co/HLfLAoJ7TA
if we are renaming, how about the 'Gulf of Understanding' or more apros pos, the 'Sea of Misinformation': where America swims, and oil companies thrive.
@32a80064@jen_keesmaat this isn't about me. Blaming prices on DCs is wrong and a developer argument to increase profitability. Taxpayers are screwed if they have to pick up the cost of growth infrastructure. But i'm a renter - i don't care: if you want to pay more taxes, awesome.
@ShabbatSlalom@32a80064@jen_keesmaat i was there when DCs were introduced in 1990 to replace political deals. They are fair, regulated, open to appeal and review. Ford prefers private deal making , which is an invitation for corruption. Nothing personal here, my age is irrelevant, just as DCs have been to prices.
