@NavalismHQ@naval There is something cool that happens when you push just outside your normal comfort zone. Still doing something you enjoy, but it ultimatly leads to another habit that you may despise now.
So do the meditation, make the nice dinner, write in your journal, connect to people. These are all important. Find your way back to the path of being present and not avoiding. But accept that you may always go back to avoiding and that is ok. Just keep trying and stop avoiding.
Letter to future self:
You forget what it’s like to get mentally out of shape- kind of like physically out of shape. It just slowly happens. With mental it’s faster and far less obvious then physical.
So you must remember to be patient with your self, but also realize you have strayed from healthy mental habits. That you must feel a little uncomfortable at times. And by doing that you actually feel more peace because you aren’t running away.
You start by asking a question
You don’t know the answer (that’s good)
Then there is an incubation period where your subconscious work on solving this problem
Then you get an answer while your mind is at peace - shower? Stretching?
Try it
Maybe humans are just like ants or bees. And we do have a connected consciousness/goal to create something . We each have a very small job and together we create something. A hive.
Maybe this is the internet
Maybe it was the railroad
That’s interesting to think about.
Pay attention to the things you like doing. Not the things you are good at. you shouldn’t do something because you are good at it, you should do it because you like it. And if you like something, you get good at it.
@elonmusk a filter to sort tweets within an account (like sorting youtube videos by popular) would add so much value. It would enable people to dig into past tweets without being inundated.
