In Islam, those actions were never meant to replace the heart; they were meant to train it.
Islam does not say Allah is impressed by movements or numbers. It says He looks at your heart, your intention, your sincerity.
The rituals are not barriers; they are pathways.
You face a direction not because God lives there, but because unity disciplines the soul.
You wash before prayer not because dirt offends God, but because purity calms the heart.
You repeat words not to impress Him, but because remembrance heals forgetfulness.
Islam also says, "Come as you are: broken, tired, uncertain, just don’t stay that way."
The rules were never about control.
They were about connection, structure, and mercy.
Faith isn’t rituals without a heart.
And it isn’t a heart without guidance.
That balance is the beauty of Islam.
I got into uni very young and dumb
First year my parents especially my Mum
Paid every single penny I was supposed to pay even the smallest unnecessary thing including a wardrobe change
I was home one day and she told me someone has been taking money from her account
Together we went to the bank and after explaining they gave us a form to fill out
In that same bank we got a call from someone claiming they are customer support
That money is being moved from her account that we should call out our ATM card pin for them so they can block it
Not in my wildest dream did I ever think this was scam nor have I heard of this kind before.
So I…… single-handedly called out those numbers to them over the phone
they said thank you!
And wiped my mum’s acct to almost zero
I think they left only about 20k there
My mum was there with me and we were at the bank but I was the one that answered the call
Her business money all gone!
When we knew we were finally scammed it shattered everyone
I saw my mum CRY
I remember this like yesterday even tho it was over 8yrs ago
You know what I don’t remember???
My mum blaming me or even getting angry at me
She never scolded me
She didn’t act angry towards me
Her attitude towards me never changed
Even tho I was the one that answered the call and stupidly gave the information out
When she calmed down you know what she asked me?
“Is there anything left to pay in school that you need urgent that might hinder your admission if not paid on time? I still have some quality items I can sell to get the money”
This broke me!!
I don’t know the kind of parents y’all have
But mine is my responsibility
Watching them get old hurts like h*ll already.
One of my greatest fear is them not enjoying my money
That’s why I pray day and night for God to keep them for me till the day I’d retire them and give them only one Job
Spending my money anyhow they want living lavishly so long as they are happy.
Else you really have bad disgusting parents
I see no reason why you shouldn’t take care of them especially if you have the means too.
Ps. I don’t really care about myself
The adrenaline to make it is so I can make sure they are happy forever
I got back from work this evening, my wife told me that she quarrelled with my neighbour's wife.
I was very shocked, both women had lived in peace since we parked in.
So I asked her what the problem was. She told me it was because of the rope where we dry clothes.
If having a quiet profile with loud achievements was a person, that person would probably be Adebayo Ogunlesi.
In case you are wondering who Adebayo Ogunlesi is and you have been looking for a summary of the BlackRock-GIP $12.5B deal, this post is for you.
Dem no born any man to start thread of, "I love my kids, but I hate fatherhood. Sometimes I just don't want to go back home after work, but I just gotta."
Women have the most freedom of expression I'll ever see.
They'll tag all men deadbeats or potential deadbeats that day.
If you’re in Nigeria and your SIM card isn’t passworded, I don’t know what to say to you ooo. Especially if it’s the SIM card registered with your Bank, you’re sitting on a keg of gun powder if that phone gets missing. Password your sim today!!!!!!
You people hate your fathers. Stop the "he wasn't present" BS
300 level, there was no money at home, I couldn't pay fees or lodge rent. My dad was getting depressed but tried to hide it.
A few days to resumption, he and I drove to his friend's house by 8pm. The man was at a meeting, but we waited till 9/10 thereabouts.
When he was done, he attended to us. I suspected the reason we were there, but it had never happened before and didn't think it would.
My beloved father said to his friend:
"My son will be resuming school next week. For now I don't have any money to send him back. Look at him here. Please lend me xxx amount; I'll repay as soon as I get it. He's in 300 level. He has 2 years to go."
I wept inside because I had to witness my dad borrow money to send me back to school.
A lot of you come to talk bullshit about your dads, about how he didn't bond and other stupid things.
If your fathers had carried you to the places they went to earn, borrow or beg for money, you wouldn't say they didn't turn up for you.
I understand how easy it is to fall into mummy's bosom and never crawl out. But you think provision is just dropping money in accounts and in mummy's lap?
Do you know how that money was gotten? Do you know how many people didn't go to school because their father's died?
Fuck bonding! Fuck being present!!
All I needed from my father was being alive to provide for me. I didn't need him toiling around the house and gisting with me.
Many of my friends lost their fathers at an early age. I was praying everyday for my dad to come back home. That was the only form of presence I needed.
Shame on you if you become successful and abandon your father because of stupid emotional crap. Especially when you're a man.
There’s something called “Counter Billing” which I want all of you to learn today. It’s a simple act of billing a biller.
It’s not a hard process. It just take the right statement to make a biller lose interest in billing you.
Stay with me.
