Also you can go by recruiting to make it a little easier. For example since the implementation of NIL, SEC five star recruits rose briefly to 19 in 2022 and 21 in 2024, but has since dipped back in to the low teens.

The Big 10 on the other hand started rising in 5 stars after NIL, and is now averaging 10+ five stars a year, up from less than 5 prior to NIL being implemented. I can get better numbers tomorrow.

@secnumbersguy The correct way to do this would be to wait another year or two and then do the comparison. NIL would have only really mattered for the 2021 and beyond recruiting classes, which would be the 2024 and beyond draft classes.

The AP poll under rated the Big 12 by an average of 14.7 spots last year in the rankings from preseason to where they finished at the end of the season

ESPN overrated the SEC last year by an average of 8.5 for FPI and 6 for SOS at the beginning of the year, with the worst offenders being Arkansas for FPI (preseason rank of 22, end of year rank of 42) and Vanderbilt for SOS (preseason rank of 5, end of year rank of 28)

@RBuckeyeOSUFan I’m going to say both are L’s, however that’s dependent on:

A) whether Michigan beats Oklahoma. If Michigan beats Oklahoma, I think they beat Indiana.

B) if there’s no drama/off the field issues. The nick marsh stuff makes me pause about the team being cohesive.
