@CyclingMerton I've just been there (9:15pm Sunday). Road has reopened but so has crossing without any temporary lights. Vegetation is overgrown on both sides restricting visibility, so crossing is now super risky. In the light of what's happened today a temp crossing is needed straight away.
The collision today in Colliers Wood at the Wandle Trail crossing of Merantun Way is now a Fatal RTC according to police. The road and crossing are still closed, police and investigators are present. 1/
🧵Going back thru email, we see the "new" Merton Local Plan has been under development for over 5 years, yet is *still* not adopted. In that time, e-bikes (dockless & private) have become a common sight. e-scooters and delivery bikes likewise. 1/
All are welcome at our monthly Wandle Trail litter pick on Sunday 28th July! Meet outside Sainsbury's and M&S on Merton High Street at 11am.
We provide litter picking sticks for those who don't own one, and we provide bags, too.
We'll pick for about an hour and go for a drink.

A fire started in our waste vehicle yesterday due to incorrect battery disposal.
