📑 Recent publication on the comparative efficacy of biological and steroid therapies for eosinophilic esophagitis — a Network Meta-Analysis of 13 randomized controlled trials including 2,163 patients.

✅ Dupilumab, cendakimab, budesonide oral suspension (BOS), and budesonide orodispersible tablets (BOT) demonstrated consistent improvement in dysphagia.

📈 Most therapies achieved histologic remission, although symptomatic improvement varied substantially across treatments.

⚠️ Histologic remission did not consistently translate into symptom improvement, underscoring the importance of assessing both clinical and histologic outcomes in EoE.

📑 Recent publication on the comparative effectiveness of EUS-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) versus enteral stent placement (ESP) for malignant gastric outlet obstruction — a reconstructed individual patient data meta-analysis of 10 studies including 1,359 patients.

✅ EUS-GE was associated with higher clinical success and a significantly lower risk of stent-related failure compared with enteral stenting.

📈 Despite slightly lower technical success, EUS-GE provided more durable palliation with fewer stent failures over time.

⚖️ Overall survival, adverse events, and hospital stay were comparable between EUS-GE and enteral stenting.

🚨Recent publication on the comparative effectiveness of achalasia therapies: POEM, LHM, PD, and Botulinum Toxin — a Network Meta-Analysis of 14 RCTs including 1,171 patients.
✅ POEM and LHM achieved the highest treatment success rates and demonstrated comparable efficacy at 1, 2, and 5 years.
📈 Both POEM and LHM significantly outperformed PD across all follow-up time points.
⚠️ Long-term reflux remains an important consideration. At 5 years, both PD and LHM were associated with lower rates of GERD symptoms compared with POEM.
