Celebrating World Book Day today with lots of great activities. Year 6 have set the tone for the day. Can you find Mr Bump in the second picture? We also have our anime heroes.
Delighted that local author Marc Bratcher, who spoke to the children earlier this week, is mentioned in the following article. Such an inspiring artist and writer.

Fluency- what does it look like in your school? One key question for our Developing group today. Tim, our Work Group lead facilitated discussions, competitions, a live lesson and post-lesson discussion about how fluency is consciously developed through specific task design ️
Louise Tempest, Head Teacher at @HayfieldLanePri with brilliant examples from her #school discussing global research & learning dispositions - also touching on partner working & research base. Touching on collaboration - "Pulling it all together & making that magic happen"
Mr Carroll enjoyed discussing so many fabulous Christmas books with children and parents at the Christmas Fair. It was fabulous to share the picture book gallery recommendations that the children have worked so hard on.
Many thanks to everyone attending the Christmas Fair this afternoon. Your support is always appreciated. As ever, we must thank the Friends of Hayfield Lane for their help in organising so many fantastic events.
Having a fantastic whole school day involving the children and staff in the
@Skills_Builder
Greeting Card Challenge. Wonderful examples of teamwork, problem solving and creating.
Another fantastic Skills Builder session where Y6 were able to speak to three people from the aviation industry and learnt so much about their key roles.
Many thanks to @Skills_Builder@GoldmanSachs and @LloydsBank for a fabulous session where the Y6 children got to ask employees from these companies a variety of questions about the skills that they use everyday within their role. Incredibly informative.
Many thanks to
@EnglishAssoc
and
@The_UKLA
for inspirational ideas through their publication English 4 - 11. Lots of discussion today about use of poetry in class as well as debating to help improve oracy - linking perfectly with our training yesterday.
Fabulous training session with @HYWEL_ROBERTS at school today. Lots of wonderful ideas to support staff in making our curriculum even better for the children.
