What's the future of communication technology look like? Look no further than @CUBoulder engineering PhD @HayleysLCs who is working hard to build it. 📲
She and her team are using a liquid crystal solution that changes the way we view smart screens.

I’ve been having discussions with my advisor and lab group about actions that can be taken so that Black graduate students (and other minorities) feel safe, welcomed, and supported. Here’s what I/we have come up with so far
Many of my Black friends and I have gotten messages from white colleagues asking about our well being and how they can help. Rather than burden us with your guilt, invite us to co-author papers and grants with you. Invite us to be on the symposium or be the guest speaker.
My goal here is to help us understand why there’s so much confusion, and to create a framework that we can use to interpret new developments as they happen. It’s long, but I think necessarily so, and I also hope that it’s clarifying and empowering. 3/ https://t.co/4N687Gm5IH
@neurdy@MissAerospace My husband is a nurse in the ER and he’s been saying that they’re only allowed to test 1) patients who are sick enough to be admitted to the hospital or 2) hospital staff. Everyone else gets sent home. 😢
Takes about 14 days for them to get the tests back. 🥴🥴🥴
Thanks to @CUArtsSciences for a great feature on our @SmalyukhG@PNASNews article that was published today! 💛

Very excited to share another chapter of my dissertation in its published form! This was a fun one to write, with many great co-authors in the @SmalyukhG. 👩🏼🔬🔬
We used various optical techniques to manipulate LC skyrmion motion:

@vancew Ha! 😆 That’s what we call them in the @SmalyukhG, but I’ve also heard “cholesteric bubbles” and “spherulites” depending on the director structure.
Here’s a cool article on the structure!
