This term, teaching my Monday choir a programme of John Rutter, being late to the party for his recent 80th birthday. Gloria, Magnificat and A Sprig of Thyme. Lots of tricky rhythmic changes to overcome, but incredibly fun and well-written music that widely appeals.
Dean Jo is delighted to announce that William Fox will be the new Director of Music at St Albans Cathedral.

Very pleased and proud to have been awarded the Royal College of Organists' Choral Directing Diploma (DipCHD) @RCO_Updates with the Gerald F. Knight Memorial Prize.
Delighted that my setting of 'Locus iste' was used at @aberdeenuni Founder's Day service last Saturday, sung by the Chapel Choir. This was the first work I wrote for my PhD portfolio. The recording of the service is at https://t.co/EbjAd39eG3 with my piece starting at 43 mins in.
@amybebbs1 @CherylHoad @BBC They were both in the BBC Radio broadcast, which was live today. The BBC TV broadcast is a different service entirely, with some of the same musical elements, and is recorded earlier in December. The commissions are never part of the TV one - radio listeners have that treat!
I thoroughly enjoyed another exceptional broadcast from King's. An excellent mix of traditional and the lesser known, all sung with such life and refinement. Thank you, also, for putting "Hark! The herald" down a tone - it makes such a difference not to sing repeated top E's #9LC
I wonder how many people will be able to perform my Meditation on the 'Coventry Carol' this Christmastide? It's published in "Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh volume 3" - https://t.co/Yx2YhCmnp6
Below is a splendid performance by organist @stevenmaxson https://t.co/RIINIPMSng

Hello again, old friend. It's good to be back. It's my first @BlenheimPalace recital post-lockdown at 13:30 today. The organ is a little under the weather but it's always a privilege to play here.
Delighted to have my work, "Meditation on the Coventry Carol" included in the latest Christmas organ music complilation by @chorganworld - "Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh: Volume 3." It is published later this month. https://t.co/Yx2YhCmnp6
Buckfast Abbey is seeking to appoint an Organist. This role presents the exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant music department within the unique context of a Roman Catholic Benedictine Monastery. More details: https://t.co/7tZVhS8YoW
Once a year, I do a "finding your voice" introduction to choral singing for prospective new choir members, and it's also a refresher for current ones. Tonight, it's the first one for my ladies' choir. It's always fun and people seem to get a lot out of it!
Usually, I try and programme choral music to broaden members' horizons a little, but occasionally, it's good to have some old favourites. Ruddington and District Choral Society: Messiah part 1, and Christmas Oratorio parts 1 and 2 this term. They're old favourites for a reason!
I always like the start of September - an air of things getting ready to start up again. It always has a feeling of promise, of potential as yet untapped - magic ready to happen just around the corner.
Professor Steven Grahl has been appointed Director of Music @TrinCollCam
Professor Grahl is currently Organist @ChChCathedralOx and Associate Professor @UniofOxford

@DrChrisMaxim@burgonsoc@durham_uni@BristolUni The regulations state that the (non- MB, LLB, BMus) Bachelors' hood is 'lined as far as the visible parts are concerned.' This has become a mere border in modern times, and I don't know whether this was authorised or not. The others, as you say, are fully lined.
