Burton Hazara Society released a statement on East Staffordshire Borough Council’s recognition of the Hazara Genocide.

I sincerely appreciates @eaststaffsbc for its historic decision on February 17, 2025, to officially recognize the Hazara genocide and condemn the ongoing atrocities committed by the Taliban against the Hazara people.

This recognition is a vital step toward justice, accountability, and human rights. By acknowledging the pain and suffering of the Hazara community, ESBC stands firmly against Hazaras persecution and for their human dignity.

Today, East Staffordshire Borough Council officially recognised the horrific genocide against the Hazara community that took place between 1891 and 1893, perpetrated by the Emir Abdur Rahman Khan. غصب زمین‌های هزاره‌ها در دشت قره‌باغ (باغ عطار) و شهرک سازی در اين منطقه براى اسكان هزاران پشتون ان سوى مرز، بخشى از همان نسل كشى بزرگ است كه از زمان عبدالرحمن خان اغاز و تا حال ادامه دارد. ساخت اين شهرک‌ها بر زمین‌هایی که نسل‌ها مردم هزاره در آن زراعت کرده‌اند و سند مالكيت دارند، نشان‌دهنده‌ پشتونيزه كردن مناطق هزاره نشين است.
