This is a brand new package of Jimmy Dean bacon
The marked weight on the package is 12 ounces
If you take the unopened package and put it directly on a scale the weight is only 10.6 ounces, and that’s with the package
I looked up the law. In the United States the marked net weight on bacon packages must reflect only the weight of the bacon itself, excluding the packaging
Under FDA rules the packaging must be excluded
We are being robbed blind
There’s no such thing as a perfect child welfare system - but if we really want to improve it here in North Carolina, here’s where we should start:
👉🏼 Child safety should be non-negotiable. Children who face worst-case abuse and neglect shouldn’t be put on reunification plans, and parental rights should be terminated swiftly.
👉🏼 Worst-case abusive or neglectful parents should not be allowed an opinion, to make requests, or allegations regarding their children’s cases.
👉🏼 Judges should make independent decisions, not default to social worker recommendations.
👉🏼 Poverty doesn’t equal abuse or neglect and should never be considered a reasonable excuse to remove a child from loving parents, whereas voluntarily living in unsanitary or dangerous conditions should be.
👉🏼 Ideology should never dictate DSS decisions.
👉🏼 Relatives (including extended family and close family friends) should get first priority for placement. Vetting should be streamlined. Placement should go to the most suitable family applicant. Real monitoring should occur for up to a year to ensure there are no issues with placement.
👉🏼 Local citizen review boards should be created to provide oversight to DSS, foster families, and orphanages.
👉🏼 Public dashboards on key metrics (removals, reunifications, re-entries, fatalities, timelines, and caseworker caseloads) would provide transparency.
👉🏼 DSS leadership should face accountability for systemic failures.
How did I come up with that list? I’ve lived it. I watched my baby sister live it.
And NC reps, if y’all really want to fix the problem, you should be talking to people who’ve experienced the system rather than the bureaucrats who run it.
Support real reforms.
Have you ever dealt with the system? How would you improve it?
A school in Massachusetts permits Sikh students to carry “ceremonial knives” for religious reasons, but any other student would be suspended or expelled. Discuss.
Bought a $1,742.80 camera online from BestBuy.
The FedEx delivery driver stole it. FedEx admitted it.
But BestBuy won’t give a refund. They said we need to “work with local law enforcement.”
Thought everyone should know if you buy from @BestBuy and a @FedEx driver steals what you paid for, your money is gone. Neither company will make it right.
I’ve spent over $30K at BestBuy and will never spend another penny there.

This HVAC technician went to the wrong house to fix a furnace… and ended up being an answer to someone’s prayer.
He showed up thinking he was sent there, fixed the broken relay, and got the heat working. When he realized he had gone to the wrong address, the woman started crying and told him she had prayed that morning asking God to send someone to fix her heat because she couldn’t afford it.
He told her it was on the house and left her with a warm home. Sometimes God really does work in mysterious ways.
Have you ever experienced something that felt like it was meant to be?
