We are a grassroots, community-labor campaign with the goal of securing the fundamental right to health care for all individuals in Washington State & the U.S.
“The most infuriating thing about Medicaid Managed Care Organizations is that, as with so many players in our for-profit health care system, they are incentivized to cut costs at the expense of necessary care.”
“Today, Medicare spends considerably more for an Advantage member than it does for a comparable enrollee in original Medicare Parts A and B.”
The program is “generating hefty income for private health insurers and keeping Medicare on a path to insolvency by decade’s end.”
Tragically, the First Lady of TN lost her best friend in the Covenant School shooting. I have to imagine that had some impact on Gov Lee’s executive order on background checks & his request to Republicans in the legislature to pass a red flag law.
Let’s see how lawmakers respond
"The immense moral and medical crisis of disparities in oral care hurts those in every corner of our state and boils down to a lack of access and affordability. Expanding our capacity to serve our vulnerable community members is necessary and urgent"

The Senate has 2 days to pass ESHB 1678 to authorize #DentalTherapy at FQHCs statewide. These vignettes show the importance of this policy and how it would help expand access to oral healthcare in our state. Urge the Senate to vote YES at https://t.co/Lyr9KN0Hmo #WaLeg

I’m reintroducing legislation to ban the sale, transfer, manufacture, and import of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
These types of weapons have no place on our streets—and banning them is a commonsense step to help keep our communities safe.
Today, our own Sam Hatzenbeler, Senior Policy Associate, was in Olympia testifying on a huge issue: SB 5393, addressing affordability through health care provider contracting.

This may seem wonky, but trust us: This matters.

We spent yesterday at the Washington State Capitol in Olympia advocating for what we need as healthcare workers, including safe staffing, protection from workplace injuries, behavioral health funding, and more. Thank you to all the legislators who took the time to meet with us!
