In her diary, Emily Waldorf chronicled what happened in the days after she was denied miscarriage treatment at an Arkansas hospital.
Her entries help paint a harrowing picture of how the state’s abortion ban guided her doctors’ choices.

My statement on the new Medicaid work reporting requirement is below.
Short take: Winners = tech vendors
Losers = 1. people with chronic and acute conditions like cancer and SUD;
2. states trying to implement the rule responsibly.
No HMOs. No “out-of-network” denials/fees. No co-pays. No crowdfunders for medical treatment. No medical bankruptcies. No skipping medical care because it’s unaffordable. Just #MedicareForAll. Another world is possible.
People power works. ✊
The House just passed a War Powers Resolution opposing Trump’s unauthorized war with Iran. A major rebuke to another endless war fought without congressional approval.
This victory didn’t happen by accident. It happened because people across the country called, organized, met with lawmakers, and demanded accountability.
Now it’s time for the Senate to act. Let’s keep the pressure on and send this resolution to Trump’s desk.
No more illegal wars. No more blank checks for militarism.
Concerns about health care affordability, intensifying scrutiny of rebate practices, and new pricing models are creating space for more ambitious thinking and deliberate reforms. Kimberly Westrich of @npcnow explores further. https://t.co/GIq5l1wAjz
Sen. Markey: Trump is limiting access to needed medical care, dehumanizing people by referring to them with the wrong pronouns, making fun of them, and ending critical discrimination protections. He is erasing references to trans people on government websites, as if he could erase trans people from this country altogether. … Trans people have always existed, and they cannot be erased.
Republicans like to say we don’t need to fully fund programs that help pregnant moms stay fed because enrollment dropped last year.
NEWSFLASH!!! Enrollment dropped because they shut down the government & starved the program for TWO MONTHS!
They should really do their homework.

Immigrants detained in facilities across the country say they’ve been denied medical care for everything from high blood pressure to cancer to flesh-eating bacteria.

Corporatization in health care doesn’t have a single cause, writes @LorenAdler, MS, in a new Perspective. But predictable harms often arise in circumstances in which market discipline is lacking and policies make consolidation especially profitable. Learn more: https://t.co/7s4hoUhc2h
Trump, Musk and Rubio slashed aid and scoffed that it was woke nonsense. Now they're seeing that it not only saved one life every 10 seconds but also protected us from diseases like Ebola. Their actions constituted a security failure as well as a moral one.
More broadly, their fecklessness contrasts with the courage and humanity of doctors and aid workers in Congo and Uganda, lacking adequate PPE but still risking the virus to care for fellow humans.
Trump, Musk and Rubio might learn something from them. https://t.co/kPKj7fqJFZ
@AARP. Those other countries operate under a system ressembling national single-payer. They use their taxes to provide health care for ALL their people. Drug prices are controlled. We have allowed ourselved to be ruled and robbed by big pharma and the forprofit insurers--such as @UHC United HealthCare!
Hey, @AARPAdvocates, list prices ≠ out-of-pocket costs. Full stop. Pushing for price controls by using manipulated data could restrict seniors’ access to lifesaving treatments. The seniors you claim to advocate for deserve transparency. @PatriciaGBarnes

BREAKING: The House just passed a resolution to end the war on Iran by a vote of 215-208.
Just 3 months into the war, this is the earliest that a chamber of Congress has ever voted to reject an active conflict in U.S. history.
