Please join me tonight as I speak with other Early Childhood Educators, Social Workers, and Instructional Coordinators to discuss the horrible loss of our essential support networks due to the gross negligence of #NYCDOE and our own @UFT! We need to protect our ECE programs!!
Unlike the current @uft leadership, we rank & file members are not taking this lying down. Show up and show out for our EC instructional coordinators and social workers! @MOREcaucusUFT members in solidarity with the unfairly excessed members. 1/2
Join @HealthJustice2 Monday the 29th at 7pm for a town hall on MPX & COVID. We will feature a panel of doctors & school community members to discuss what can be done to mitigate spread inside schools & in our communities, how we can dispel homophobic myths about MPX, (1/2)
@DOEChancellor So we’re “producing” young people now? You make them sound like biotech industry widgets that are being rolled off an assembly line instead of fully complicated human beings with their own ideas for the future.
Today is the #PeoplesPEP, or to be technical, the Panel on Education Policy. The meeting starts TODAY at 6PM. This is an opportunity to make your voice heard and #RestoreTheCuts
.@NYCSpeakerAdams@NYCMayor: advocates & @NYCComptroller say school cuts are $1.7B-$469M. Anything <$469M is selling schools short & does not reverse the damage of YOUR decision to defund schools in June. Show that you stand w/ parents, teachers & schools & fully #RestoreTheCuts!
https://t.co/dzkxZeomw3 Newsflash: @NYCCouncil you weren't the only ones misled. We all were. My question is... Now what? This can all stop tomorrow if @NYCMayor#RestoreTheCuts
@NYCMayor calling people protesting over $1B in @NYCSchools budget cuts “clowns”. Really? Thanks @MATTtheG and all those who showed up to demand that our schools are fully funded!
@UFT where is our union??? NYC facing budget cuts - UFT leadership is silent on, CMs are reporting 0 pushback from UFT leadrshp prior to passing cuts. BA5 variant is surging while @NYCMayor reduces testing and eliminates NYC alert system. WHERE. IS. OUR. UNION. @MOREcaucusUFT
There was sooo much preoccupation with “learning loss” at the beginning of the pandemic, and now 2 years later our legislators cannot do the most COMMON SENSE thing to improve students learning- lower class size. No surprise bc this solution doesn’t make testing companies $
With mayoral control set to expire today, sources say Gov. Kathy Hochul is requesting lawmakers send her the bill extending control of city schools for another 2 years, but not the accompanying bill to reduce class sizes that is opposed to by Mayor Eric Adams.
My union robocalled every member to vote for a governor who won’t sign a class size reduction bill. That is on her desk. And will sign a mayoral control bill for a mayor who just slashed the school’s budget while increasing nypd’s budget. @UFT@KathyHochul@NYCMayor
See you on the frontlines in all the different & important ways we know our community can show up. Our children deserve our fiercest fight, and our leaders- our real leaders- deserve our love, protection and acknowledgement.
