Note that this in itself is a well-replicated finding. At least a dozen studies show that when researchers replicate qualitative research, or re-analyze it, they come to basically identical themes. There is nothing special about qualitative research with respect to replicability.
New paper out in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences!
We find evidence that disgust sensitivity leads to religiosity through monogamous sexual attitudes. Calibrated mating goals might functionally shape belief.

Why do our friendships feel so vital?
I wrote a short piece for @JessicaDAyers’ lab blog. It discusses why evolutionary psychology is critical for understanding complex social phenomena like friendship and provides an introduction to evolutionary social psychology.

A small story for a Monday night:
A group of students in my History of Psych class devised a game of musical chairs to illustrate the concept of survival of the fittest.
The prize was a box of Kinder eggs…representing the successful reproduction of those fittest.
Pleased and proud to share that recent honours student Ben has just accepted an offer to do a PhD in evo psych at Michigan.
Appropriately, he is in Denver this weekend presenting his research at SPSP.
Dr Ally Louks is in the building.
Cambridge PhD student Dr @DrAllyLouks from @Peterhouse_Cam went viral last year when she posted a photo of her thesis on the politics of smell in modern and contemporary prose.

What an achievement vaccines are. What a monument to our love for each other it is to stare straight into the face of something as horrific and unstoppable as smallpox or measles or polio or cervical cancer and say “You know what, it doesn’t have to be like this.”
HUMANS!
@mattgreencomedy@MTakeshisan The way I exclaimed out loud in surprise watching tonight’s episode on PBS and spotting you at the police station reception desk!
