I haven’t been online much over the summer, but as my hours increase in my role supporting uni students with their mental health, I’m going to be taking a break from Twitter in order to look after my brain.
Nor am I afraid to admit that easing out of lockdown, & now the prospect of a second lockdown has been, & is, challenging me.
As someone working in the area of mental health, it’s vital I look after my own, too.
If you’re working in this area, please take care of yourselves!
A body found in the River Avon in Bristol earlier today is believed to be of missing Bath student Martin Bowers. His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time. We aren't treating the death as suspicious.

#missingpersons@UniofBath have 70k+ followers on here, and 25k+ followers on Instagram. Why is this not being publicised through their social media channels? Why is there not more of a buzz about this? Why is more not being done?
People you think are ok, might not be ok. Ask them, and ask again. Mental health is difficult for many. And it’s not easy to share #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Please take a moment to read this, endorse and retweet. We talk about this issue a lot on air. Here’s a tragic example of this unacceptable problem with our laws.
Was just listening to a podcast & made me think about what inspires my work?
Last semester @HealthPsychTam spoke to us on photoelicitation. Her PHD topic was motivated by a chapter professor @JulieTurnerCobb wrote in her book. What inspires/hones your research? @divhealthpsych
