@SteveOnSpeed@BreadGtrChxrch But the rise of the last 5-7 years seems to have been very steep, the kind of rise that is not sustainable. Surely it’s due for a massive dip in the not too distant future. What’s your observation?
@FinLitBae Interest is promised on my savings - where does that interest income come from? What are the income earning activities that this sacco is doing?
@FinLitBae 1. So what are the measures or systems in place with this particular SACCO to secure funds saved by the coop? A few years we thought certain institutions were secure until they were not.
@KuraChihota Planners of new suburbs actually don't leave much room for trees along the roads. They don't plan for trees. Look at the newer suburbs and look at how narrow the roadways are. And the verges outside stands is also very narrow, no space for trees
“It is generally human nature to overestimate #risk and underestimate #opportunity and i think that entrepreneurs would be well advised to try and bias against that piece of human nature.” -Jeff Bezos, in an interview with Ross Sorkin @ NYT Dealbook Summit 2024

I have tried using the registration facility on the website but it is not working
I used to have a habit that at 4 in the afternoon I’d say to all the lawyers in the room “no one leaves the room until the deal is done” because what’s unreasonable at 4pm is very reasonable at 4am - J Wener, Canadian property developer

-Keep having aspirations or you will expire!
-Meet this gentleman, his name is Chris Munodawafa his story is one that reminds me that as long as you dream everything is within reach!
-This guy failed his O levels at his first attempt and went back and wrote and passed.
-Then after O level he went on to work as a baker, then after some few years he went back to school at did his A level.
-After passing A level he started to teach A level students in his ghetto Mabvuku and created a name for himself teaching high school!Sir Chris!
-He did that for years as he was taking care of his siblings and did not have money to send himself to University (2009-2016)
-Then he decided to go back to school that is in 2017 and he acquired his own 2 degrees(One was bachelor of education and another one bachelor in Accounting )CIS and then did masters in accounting,
-Then someone told him that in accounting field to take good money you have to be a CA all this masters and stuff won’t get you at the helm.
-I thought dude would say it’s enough now,no!!!!!!!! he went on and started doing CTA and passed it then did ITC he passed it and now he is doing APC.(He actually failed it on his first attempt but as a champion he is,l have no doubt he will slay it soon).
-While doing CTA,he would do Vaya in the evening and after finishing CTA he went on to teach CTA. To me that is a genius move to combine his teaching experience with his new abilities. So he would teach during the day and go do Vaya in the evening. He is now a family man he has to feed his family while keeping his dream alive!
-His story is still being written and l am sure in few years we will be seeing his name in different spaces, currently he is Audit associate with BDO Zimbabwe,he is the current president of CA students in Zimbabwe and he is one of the best lecturer with CAA one of the two CA training institutions in Zimbabwe.
-Today dude is turning 40 Years and still going.Happy Sir Chris you inspire me!
-There are those who think they are already too old to pursue their dreams yet they are just 30,relax and take action!
On this day in 1969: a 25-year old grad student published a document about ARPANET.
He stayed up all night quietly writing it in a bathroom so he wouldn’t wake people up where he was staying.
It helped pave the way for the Internet.
@tmukogo Been listening to an autobiographical podcast on Sam and FTX. I found it fascinating that he started out with well meaning deeply altruistic motives
