As we move into the next chapter of Haringey's LTNs, Cllr @mikehakata highlights their positive impact.
🌳 The Bounds Green, St Ann's, and Bruce Grove West Green LTNs were given the green light to continue.
Let's keep working together for a fairer, greener borough.
Haringey set is to make all three of its trial LTNs permanent, according to cabinet papers just published. in the biggest, Bruce Grove West Green, cycling increased by 33%, collisions down by 56%, just a 3% increase in boundary road traffic https://t.co/Bey9lUzspW
There's also a community bike ride beforehand which will end at the Play Street. It's going through all the local parks and is super easy for little ones.

This morning we held a community cycle around Stroud Green, London, N4. Despite the damp day it was a joy to see children developing their confidence in cycling on the road. We set off from Finsbury Park. Our marshals did a great job in keeping us safe. 🚲 🌎🧵1/5

“I was embarrassed to think that we’d ever encouraged people to cycle this journey” 💔💔💔
Make no bones about it, a lot of Haringey is still dreadful for cycling. I’ve had near misses on all of these roads mentioned. We need change. And we need it now.
Car bores on here often wang on as if I have somehow unfairly impugned the humble SUV driver, & what business is it of mine what car they drive anyway etc. Our new report, Tractor Attack, may help to explain why I talk about this so much, and also: What Is To Be Done About It

Today I can share I'm challenging the PM on the legality of abandoning key Net Zero commitments
I believe the timeline for the UK to meet Net Zero cannot be changed at will by the PM – I contend that he does not have the legal right
The ball is in your court , Prime Minister
Do we want our children to breathe in fewer harmful pollutants all day, everyday?
Ask your council for a School Street
... and tell your MP about it too!
