The pure SAVE Act is NOT in the reconciliation bill.
What they’re offering is $10 billion in optional grants that encourage states to adopt voter ID and proof-of-citizenship rules. States can simply take the money… or ignore it.
That’s not the SAVE Act.
That’s just more federal spending with no mandate.
The real SAVE Act requires documentary proof of citizenship to register and photo ID to vote in federal elections — nationwide. It must pass as a standalone bill (or be forced onto a must-pass vehicle). Anything less is a watered-down substitute.
We don’t want “incentives.”
We want the actual law.
Pass the pure SAVE Act.
