Being a dad is one of the greatest honors of my life. I do not take it lightly. Every case I fight, every family I stand beside I do it as a father first. 🤎
To every dad in this community we see you, we honor you, we salute you.
Happy Father’s Day. 🙏🏾✊🏾
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, the day enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas were finally told they had been free for more than two years. It is a celebration of delayed freedom and a reminder that our liberation has never been freely given.
Opal Lee, often called the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” walked hundreds of miles and fought to help make Juneteenth a national holiday. She did not wait for permission or ask for recognition. She laced up her sneakers at 89 years old and walked city by city, mile by mile, so that what our ancestors were denied would never be forgotten again.
Two and a half years. That is how long enslaved people in Texas were kept from knowing they were free. Opal Lee carried that history in every step she took.
We celebrate today because she refused to let this day be erased. Juneteenth is about truth telling, remembrance, and protecting the freedom our people bled for. That is the spirit of this day. That is the legacy we carry forward.
Say her name. Dr. Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth. ✊🏾

The attacks on Michelle Obama’s femininity aren’t jokes.
They’re a pattern of anti-Black misogyny that this country refuses to hold accountable.
She is the standard.
She has always been the standard.

Leon Smith, an AP U.S. History and African American Studies teacher at Haverford High with a 25-year career, was named the 2026 National Teacher of the Year! We need more male educators shaping the minds of students in the classroom! Congrats, King! 👑 https://t.co/GCi3Klghfc
On February 28, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, Greek and HBCU communities began grieving the loss of Dr. Taylar Williams, a devoted wife, mother of four, educator and former Miss Albany State whose light reached far beyond any classroom.
In her 32 years she poured herself into Black children, Black families and Black institutions, proving every day that our communities deserve safety, joy and excellence. We extend our deepest condolences to her husband, children, loved ones, students and colleagues, and we stand with all who are mourning her – committed to honoring her legacy with the same courage, brilliance and service she gave to us. At this time, the cause of her death has not been publicly disclosed.

With all that’s happening in the world today, millions are screaming for a change, but the truth is, transformation only begins when you decide to do something different.
I’ve stood with families like Ahmaud Arbery’s and Atatiana Jefferson’s, and so many more that we’ve lost, fighting every day to push this system toward justice that we all know needs to be rebuilt. I never imagined, as a child, that I would one day help carry the burden of grieving mothers, fathers, and whole communities, but I chose to stand in that gap. So now I’m asking you to be the change you’re hoping for: don’t just watch from the sidelines, speak up, organize, don’t wait on anyone else to do what hasn’t been done.
In my new documentary “ENOUGH,” I share my journey as a Civil Rights Attorney, in hopes of inspiring millions to become the change they want to see.
Follow, like, and share for more exclusive footage from my documentary “ENOUGH.”
Don't concern yourself with the money. Be of service ... build ... work ... dream ... create! Do this and you'll find there is no limit to the prosperity and abundance that will come to you.
Dr. Gloria Wade-Gayles, a powerful voice for Black women in academia and activism, has died at 88. Raised in Jim Crow Memphis, she taught in college classrooms and on the frontlines during the Freedom Summer of 1964. She obtained a Ph.D, wrote several influential books and academic articles on the Black women’s experiences in American culture. Rest In Power to a sister who made history by telling OURS.
One year ago, the Eaton Fire took everything from my Morehouse brother Stephan Taylor and his family. They lost their Altadena home, but not their purpose. Recovery isn’t measured in rebuilding—it’s in reclaiming safety and home.
When you fight for justice, you recognize real leaders. Proud to stand with @repjasmine and @team_alisa_simmons, two warriors building a better Texas. Honored to endorse them both.
Rep. McGarvey reintroduced the Justice for Breonna Taylor Act to ban no-knock raids. This bill must pass both chambers of Congress—our voices will decide if Breonna’s name becomes law or just a hashtag.
