@NicD903@amvetsupport 🤣 Most Canadians who are regular visitors to Palm Springs are fairly well off, and thanks to stock markets they are actually wealthier than they were 2 years ago.
@gilmcgowan@PoliticsFan2005 I don’t agree with you very often but you’re correct. I don’t understand why she’s doing this …but I suspect she’s done the math.
Have the referendum, keep the nut bars in the UCP, win again.
Quash separatism - piss off 15% of UCP. , split the party & lose.
@duncancameron@cbcwatcher Imagine banning an oil export project proposed by North America’s pre-eminent pipeline company, then buying another project and spending more than twice what was necessary (taxpayer $), only to have your successor enable what should’ve been done 15 years earlier.
@cbcwatcher@jlgusek She’s right. Justin & Co changed Canada.
I always felt that our social safety nets, our history and our natural bounty more than offset whatever modest economic gap we had vs Americans. It’s harder to make that argument persuasively to the generation behind me.
@meddlinkid@Victori49569624@JustMeJamie64 No praise for most of those, but the worst and most influential were Guilbeault & Freeland. Also gone are Boissonault, Shameful o’Regan, Wilkinson, Rodriguez, Blair. Hajdu sees the writing on the wall.
Anand, Champagne & Miller are competent.
@EricRStPierre The only thing protecting Canada from America is Americans who understand freedom and independence, not just for themselves but for all.
They make awful choices at times (no more than we do) and are dominated by the wealthiest, but they’re still a great nation of amazing people.
@UnitedCanucks26@MarkJCarney 4 stars. Effectively got rid of the worst of the Trudeau cabal, dealt adroitly and in a principled fashion with Trump & Co, and is far more sensible on issues that actually matter (economy, infrastructure, trade, defense). Tweaked Carbon mgmt in right direction.
@Victori49569624@JustMeJamie64 IMO, we’re not victims of America. We’re victims of the Trudeau dynasty and the people who kept voting for it. Carney is on the right path. He’s ousted the rotten core of the party, and severely course corrected policies, but it’ll take a generation to reverse the damage.
@JustMeJamie64 “Damage control” is part of the job description and he has been utterly consistent. We must transition to a strong but less dependent relationship. The vast majority of Americans have no problem with that, nor do I.
