Heart of an Ace is the charitable arm of the Aces & Eights volunteer group formed to show love for Allies that helped us survive missions in Afghanistan
Our organisation was established to help our Afghan allies who we worked and served with. Today is the 2nd anniversary of the catastrophic withdrawal and we are still here to keep our promise.
Please read some of our organisation members' thoughts and feelings...
2 years ago today, war between the USA and Afghanistan officially ended after the Taliban seized Kabul.

"Forugh describes her life under the shadow of Taliban rule as “gradual death and captivity”, & says she stays at home like a prisoner. Only her mother is able to work. “Truthfully, I am very tired. If suicide were right, I would end this miserable life.”" https://t.co/Og9wsX9ED6

We are not able to do anything to save her life...
Our hearts are broken...

What happened in Afghanistan?
June 20, 2023 – July 20, 2023
🚩Every month, we track claims of human rights incidents in #Afghanistan.
🗓️This month, AW saw an increase in reported incidents across the four categories we monitor – most notably, an increase in claims concerning gender-based violence.

We are grateful to the Essential Church (VA) for trusting our organisation to execute their donation in order to provide humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable in Afghanistan. Approximately 29 million people need humanitarian aid according to the UN

The ICRC announced the discontinuation of its aid to 25 public hospitals in Afghanistan by the end of August due to financial difficulties.
The ICRC has been covering salaries and the running costs of the hospitals, and also providing necessary medication

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Flight From Plight organisation, who donated for the special school of street begging and homeless children. With their help, we can keep the school operating for another 3 months.

1/ The TDF family paid tribute to its soldier, a US citizen Nicholas Maimer, a former Green Beret, who felt a calling to help in Ukraine after Russia invaded. “I think this is one of the most clear-cut unjust invasions in recent history,” Maimer said in an interview in 2022.
We need to see concrete steps to hold the Taliban accountable for their extreme brutality & sweeping abuses in #Afghanistan.
