Consent. Compensation. Control. These three pillars are critical when it comes to the use of AI in film and TV, and guess what? This recent CMPA-commissioned study agrees!

AI can enhance creativity, but not at the expense of performers' rights or jobs. The report highlights key concerns that align with ACTRA's ongoing advocacy:

• Consent: Clear and explicit approval is needed for AI use in digital replicas or performances.
• Compensation: Performers must be fairly paid when their digital likeness or work is replicated.
• Control: Safeguards must ensure performers’ work and identity remain protected, respecting ownership and ethical boundaries.

ACTRA Toronto continues to stand firm: AI must support human creativity, not replace it or exploit performers. Let's ensure the future of our industry respects the artists who bring it to life.
