At the baby’s newborn visit, there two parents, each glowing and asking all the questions. At his one week weight check there was only mom, sobbing and cradling him, barely able to speak. And that makes 7 patients I care for who’ve lost a parent to gun violence.

The Fierce Urgency of Now - When injustice becomes law, non-violent resistance becomes duty. The urgent question is: If you believe this decision is wrong what will you do to make things right? We must now have a movement of committed individuals for change.

@jfkantrowitz I was once promoted suddenly to an exec role, working with leaders whose in-boxes grew by scores each hour. To cope, these folks approached the genre differently. Their emails were minimalist and direct--even cryptic. Adopting their style felt weird but got my questions answered.
Burnout isn't due to a lack of motivation. It's caused by a shortage of capacity.
There are more interesting people and projects than hours in the day. The key question isn't whether you have interest. It's whether you have bandwidth.
Enthusiasm is boundless. Time is finite.
