I commit to be my best. I commit to be helpful. To lead. To accept responsibility. To own up to mistakes. To not know, but find out. Students learn from mistakes. We learn from making them. #NNPSChat
Being kind, specific and helpful. Unless you understand the specifics and come with some solutions it is hard to make any change. When I started using those three powerful words it changed everything for me. My feedback needed to represent all three. #NNPSChat
A3: I want to see more of this in 2021! I look forward to seeing how teachers provide personalized, meaningful feedback to students so that I can try those same strategies with virtual observations 👀 #NNPSChat
A3 Important to provide positive feedback. I check in w/ students throughout the day w/ GoGuardian & let them know that I see how hard they are working. I also check w/ my collab teachers & discuss student performance. Emphasize the hard work students are accomplishing. #NNPSChat
Q3 There is nothing like a compliment, personal interaction, personal follow up question, personal acknowledgement. We are all pressed for time in our engagement via virtual, but notice the small things and comment. Be aware. #NNPSChat@RhettAngela
@AllysonIrish617 I agree, but somehow we have to find the time. Virtual learning can’t suck the life out of relationship building and that means diving into feelings. Same goes for all of educational interactions while we are virtual. You got this!!!
We had a conversation this morning. My kids had questions. I was honest about how I felt. We talked about safety, representation, kindness, anger & acceptance. We read together and talked about what we can do, how our actions and words DO matter. #futureleaders#conversations
Q2 I’m really trying to make each interaction more personal. I miss the small chat of a beginning of a meeting. Zoom forces you to get to business, but relationships matter. #NNPSchat
To be respectful and honest, stay with the facts but allow the littles to speak because sometimes they just don’t know how to express through words. Show them love and encourage peace. We are a kind nation and we are kind people remember to be kind to one another.
My students weren’t excited for intervention to start today, tbh neither was I. They chose their group names, decided on norms & then read about how lettuce grows in space! It wasn’t perfect but there was a lot of laughs and a good discussion! #day1#IEcanbefun#notapunishment
