Cruising at FL360 over the Congo forest in the DRC and got the exact same thing on a 737-800—hard EGPWS warnings ("TERRAIN, PULL UP") triggered by spoofed position data.
Fortunately, @Boeing recently published the “GPS Data Unreliable checklist ”to help crew recognize ,manage such issues and transition safely to IRS and conventional radio navigation if required.
Stay sharp out there! ✈️

@TheA380Captain It depends on the kind of Capt you are. If the FO knows you are a micromanager they’ll just let you fly your plane 🤣🤣

Introducing Dataliner: a new era of aviation intelligence! ✈️

This AI-powered intelligence platform combines aviation data with #TeamBoeing’s deep aircraft expertise to transform how airlines understand their fleets, anticipate maintenance needs and make critical operational decisions.

Built in partnership with @Microsoft and other technologies, Dataliner puts security and data sovereignty at its core — turning fragmented aviation data into fleet-wide intelligence to help airlines identify emerging risks, detect aircraft performance issues and make faster, more coordinated decisions across maintenance and operations.

Taxiing out at LHR today, spotted this high-visibility red-and-white lattice tower (with a red/white cylinder at the top) right next to the runway! ✈️🇬🇧

It’s a key part of the airfield’s Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) and Runway Visual Range (RVR) infrastructure.

How it works:
Optical forward-scatter and transmissometer sensors on these towers measure atmospheric extinction to calculate exact runway visibility/RVR.

Ceilometers and anemometers transmit real-time cloud base heights, surface wind, temperature and pressure to the airfield network.

This feeds ATIS/METAR for ATC and automated broadcasts, giving pilots instant local weather for takeoff and approach calculations.

Always cool to appreciate the precision tech keeping us flying safely! 🌤️✈️

Look how beautiful this Lufthansa A340-600 cabin is.
One last walk down the aisle of the longest passenger quadjet in the world, from business class all the way to the back. The warm lighting, deep navy carpets, and endless rows of seats make this cabin truly special.
Quiet, empty, and still beautiful. It’s easy to see why this four-engine giant is so loved. 💙✈️

[HeavyJetPilot @HeavyJetPilot]

@muratherdemm If you fall out of the window doing that as a pilot, I don’t think workplace injury benefits will cover you, since it's an engineer’s job to clean the windshield. Engineers are supposed to use exterior stairs for that.

[HeavyJetPilot @HeavyJetPilot]

@jbransonx Interesting thoughts. At what point do you become content and stop wandering in the pursuit of something new, different, or better?

BREAKING: LATAM A320 engine catches on fire while departing Lima Jorge Chavez International Airport, Peru.

In a statement the airline said " an unforeseen technical event occurred before takeoff, and for this reason the preventive disembarkation of all passengers was determined, prioritizing their safety at all times."

@Aerovances I haven't flown private before, but this experience seems better than flying private , When flying Solo

@SaiyidYasir Where are the environmentalists and climate change activists? There is something here they need to see.🤣🤣

Lufthansa’s Airbus A340-600 landed in Frankfurt from Washington Dulles, bringing its final flight to an end and closing another chapter in the history of this iconic four-engine aircraft. The A340-600 has earned a special place in aviation history. A legacy that won’t be forgotten. 💙

@PlatypusX9 Sad Scenes 😢😢

[Aero vance @Aerovances]

I literally love this night view from the Pilots POV. But night flights are insane. Most times zero visibility just trust in your equipments.

[Aero vance @Aerovances]

Engine start and start Flow on a Airbus 350. Is it only me that thinks that the Airbus has some of the busiest Cockpit?

[HeavyJetPilot @HeavyJetPilot]

@Aerovances They need to declutter some of those displays. Too much information is displayed at once.
