@DisaffectedPod I read once that most people are plain just not entrepreneurially inclined, would never want to work for themself or run a business, absolutely want a job with someone else creating the structure. I wondered a lot during COVID whether these groups overlap with what yiu describe.
@itsme88alex@txsalth2o I had a friend who worked as a lawyer there for several years. She said the underlying economy is basically what we would think of as mafias.
@ZeitvilleMedia Capricorn moon here. I met a new person today who is moving part time to my small island and we are both from New York City, mutual friends. Haven't had this kind of connection happen in a long time.
@annbauerwriter@MdmpMichael It's hard to see this, but it's also gonna be useful for the future because it gives you a new starting point for assessing people
@iamlisakirk@annbauerwriter I read somewhere that his diary is something he planed to use as the notes for his future book. From this perspective, it all makes sense to me.
@London_W4 It's a heck of a story. Even if guilty, there's just nothing really supporting it. AK lives on the same island I do here in Washington state. She was recently on the Andrew Gold show "Heretics," talking about Lucy Letby, who she has taken an interest in
By far the funniest moment in Homer’s Odyssey is when Circe says, “Shall we have sex?” and Odysseus says, “You just turned all my men into pigs. You have the GALL to think I would sleep with you? Of course I will. Absolutely. But don’t do any weird spells”
My grandfather fought in WW2, storming the beaches of Normandy. I once told him "You're a hero". He said: "I'm no hero. The real heros are the blue haired teenagers who superglue themselves to things". True story.
Back in 2018, Sen. Pedersen wrote this email about progressive taxes. Aside from the fact that the only thing ‘progressive’ about these taxes is that they get progressively worse, is that they are always sold as one thing and later those promises are abandoned.
Take the capital gains income tax for example. Here he says it’s important to help overturn precedent over the constitutionality of income taxes, but the campaign for it at the time said it was critical to fund schools and early learning, and in this email he claims it’ll help reduce regressive taxes. Interesting! How has that turned out??
Fast forward 7 years to 2025, we faced a massive budget deficit and despite having that capital gains tax, Democrats raised the largest regressive taxes in state history. To date, regressive taxes have never been lowered because of capital gains, they’ve only went up - dramatically.
And what about education? It’s true that there is an education legacy trust account where the capital gains revenue goes. It can help fund education related items. However, fast forward to 2026, facing another predictable budget deficit, Democrats raided the education legacy trust account to assist with the budget deficit. And at the very same time, made a massive $250m cut to schools, early learning, and childcare - primarily in Republican districts.
While that was happening, they passed another unconstitutional progressive income tax - the ‘millionaires’ tax. All with the same set of promises that they have already violated. They say it funds education. It doesn’t. They say it funds tax relief. Barely enough for anyone to ever experience.
They stole the money they promised capital gains would help with to cover more reckless spending, and then cut the things it was supposed to help.
And for some reason, we are meant to believe that this exact same set of failed promises or lies won’t occur again with a general income tax with a flimsy million dollar exemption that can change at the whim of a majority that constantly breaks its promises? I’d literally trust a volcano insurance salesmen more readily. Hard pass. This will apply to all of us in no time.
So if you just track Sen. Pedersen’s words from 2018 to now, you can rest assured that an income tax won’t fund the many promises that have been made. It’s just a carefully crafted fantasy to make people feel warm and fuzzy inside that they get to steal the success of someone else to pay for things that make them feel good, and I guess they all get to look the other way when those promises fail and just push for the next economy shattering, low IQ tax proposal.
They’ll say if you vote yes to end the income tax, it’ll cut from schools and all the good things. But you can’t cut what you haven’t even spent. The income tax wouldn’t collect a penny until late 2029, so if the income tax ends this November, there won’t be a single change in budgeted funds for anything in this budget biennium.
But this simple and bullet proof fact will largely and predictably escape media scrutiny as most of the media will simply parrot talking points that aren’t based in any fact whatsoever. So it’s up to us to tell the truth, stop the circus, usher in fiscal responsibility, and defeat the rot of socialism harming families.
