After understanding the reason behind this father's actions, I'm completely convinced. This is how resilience is built—by teaching children to solve problems on their own and never give up. I truly applaud this father. 👏❤️
Yesterday, something happened in Kano that I still can’t process.
A young boy who was out picking garbage just to earn a halal living was kidnapped, taken to an uncompleted building, and killed in cold blood. A woman heard his screams and alerted the local vigilantes, but by the time they got there, it was already too late. They found the man washing his hands, trying to leave.
When they asked him what the little boy had done to deserve such evil, he simply replied.Nothing.
Nothing?
That answer has been ringing in my head ever since. That child was just trying to make an honest living. He was someone’s son, someone’s joy, with his whole life ahead of him.
SubhanAllah. My chest is so heavy. At this point, Kano is beginning to scare me. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength and patience to bear this heartbreaking loss. Ameen. 🤲💔
We brought back baggy jeans, Polaroid cameras, and vinyl records. Can we bring back basic human empathy too? The way it’s become so rare is concerning.
Not everyone will celebrate your growth, and that's okay. If your dreams make some people uncomfortable, it means you're refusing to play small. Keep growing, keep showing up, and never dim your light to make others comfortable. You were created to stand out, not fit in.
Whatever it is that will protect you and your dignity, please try to look for it.
Poverty sucks, really sucks, mahn!
Allahumma inni a uzhu bika minal kufri wal fakr..
I prayed Tahajjud every night.
Same du’as.
Same tears.
Same requests.
Nothing changed.
Until a scholar told me something that shook me:
“You’re talking to Allah, but have you stopped long enough to let Him talk back?”
