“Duh” fixes for remote learning:
No testing.
Get rid of A-F grades.
Homework only as enrichment
Cut screen time down to 3hrs max.
One full asynchronous day for everyone.
STOP trying to make remote learning look exactly like in-person learning.
Me texting a friend while watching the presidential debate on Tuesday:
I would never allow my students to have a debate like this!
My friend: Then you’re not preparing them for the presidency.
Me: 😫
@edutopia This is such a great resource! I love the simplicity of the animation and how useful these tips are for practical classroom use.

@fastcrayon Thanks Amy! I love this quote, it is so nice to remember that ultimate mastery is not the goal, the goal is to help students and encourage them to be lifelong learners!

@JakeMillerTech Thanks Jake! This is so useful, I had no idea that this shortcut existed, I'm sure it will be helpful for students who are auditory learners!

@Catlin_Tucker Thank you for sharing this resource! It is so nice to see a visual representation of many different learning styles, for teachers to incorporate them and for students to be aware of how they learn best as well!

Teachers plates are still overflowing. They still have at least five jobs. Teacher, curriculum developer, IT for students, therapist for parents struggling, & office worker. All while trying to take care of their family too. They need grace & support now more than ever.
@JessKochendoer1 Hi Jess! I love this resource! It is really nice to know that other pre-service teachers wonder about setting boundaries and how to do it. Thanks!
Hi everyone! I found a website that offers tips for the first year of teaching, and I though some of my fellow pre-service teachers would be interested!

Hello education community!
My question today is about finding resources when you first start teaching. How do you find support and community in your first years teaching?

@EllieLe94016804 Hi Ellie! I completely agree, I already love the community that I have seen since joining Twitter, and I am so excited to make connections and learn from other people!

@HubleyNatasha Natasha, I love this idea! A lot of my professors are doing the same thing, it is so nice to see them prioritize the well-being of their students, even if it means taking a minute away from class.

Today my friend and I spent many hours laughing and painting portraits of our roommates. As a future art teacher, this activity made me appreciate the importance of community in creative spaces and the intersection between art and relationships.
