@LakersEmpire Was at this game, first time in Staples. Electric. Too add on to it dude at the halftime show hit the half court shot to win 100k😭 Staples was going crazyyy that night
@c3p0rings@_nelasoul They were turning up at the end of that year before Kobe snapped his Achilles though, went like 28-12 in the 2nd half of the season. Would’ve loved to see that version of Kobe in the playoffs.
@JeffBiesinger The Jazz had a big man surplus, JJJ and Markennen already fill those slots, unless you’re trading one of them it doesn’t make sense to add another big money contract in the front court, they liked Kessler a lot he was just the odd man out
@KDTrey5 curious of your thoughts on this, I know you hate the player ranking shit but if Kobe gets bumped down all time because "he had Shaq" why doesn't the media apply the same standard to Magic and Kareem, who spent most of their runs playing with each other? Why is Kobe's help held against him but theirs isn't?
I’m looking at you @stephenasmith
Kobe easily top 3 all time imo
Lukas health this, Lukas conditioning that, dude has been in phenomenal shape for the past year and a half and had an unfortunate unlucky injury to end the season after being healthy all year.
We’re getting MVP Luka this season just wait & see.
Kuz goated for speaking up on this, it is so oblivious to preach to your fans that $200 million is not a lot of money when that fan might spend 70-80% of their check just to watch you play for one game and lives check to check on the daily. NBA money is designed to set you up for life, how you manage it is a completely different matter.

Ngl it’s exhausting hearing athletes break down how their millions “aren’t really millions” after taxes and fees. 40M after taxes is still 40M.
The real issue isn’t the system, it’s lifestyle creep. Nobody told you to live like a king, buy 5 cars, or move with a 10‑person entourage. Modest is allowed.
@stillnez216 Lakers were also the 7 seed that year with no expectation of beating that Suns team much less taking them to 7. Came in as +300 underdogs. Kobe was running with Smush Parker, Kwame Brown and Luke Walton in the starting lineup don’t forget to mention that.
Aside from when Jerry Buss passed and Lakers went through their 7 season playoff drought, the Lakers have consistently been in the playoffs or in the running nearly every season of their existence outside of that stretch. They have Luka Doncic & Austin Reaves on the roster which makes up one of the very best backcourts in the NBA. I think it’ll be an interesting 5 years too but not for the reasons RJ is implying here.
Top tier frustration game
My team beat the 2015-16 Warriors 45.60% of the time. Think you can build a squad that does better? @hoopshype https://t.co/mRNZyqATfO
Banchero has been a net negative on his team every single year he’s been in the league, good numbers but doesn’t play a winning brand of basketball. Scottie Barnes lacks high level shooting, shot creation to be a lead guy on a championship caliber team. Maxey is unbelievable but I would not start a franchise with a 6’2 guy, even if Brunson just won a chip that’s few and far between.
If you’re going for youth then Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Ant Man all have super high ceilings & more potential.
