The team at the High Commission of 🇨🇦 in 🇹🇿 has donated funds to KWIECO to support their safehouse project, providing shelter for GBV survivors, most of whom are school-aged girls. This employee-driven donation empowers and protects those in need. Proud to make a difference!

Yesterday I hosted Hon. Ahmed Hussen (MP), Minister for International Development of Canada and had a productive discussion on Tanzania - Canada cooperation in the health sector .

Among others, Canada has been the largest contributor to the Health Basket Fund which has continued to be the reliable source of financing primary health care services in all 184 local government authorities in Mainland Tanzania.

I'd like to express our appreciation to the Govt of Canada for their invaluable support to Tanzania's health sector. With Canadian support and that of other Development Partners we are seeing positive trends including reduction of maternal mortality by 80% from 556 deaths in 2015/16 to 104 deaths per 100,000 live births. We are very pleased with Minister Hussen's declaration that Canada will continue to support Tanzania in its efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage. Asante sana Canada. Tupo Pamoj🇨🇦🇹🇿
