My mom paid off her house in 2003.
Thought that was it. Thought she was done. Thought it was finally hers.
Property taxes were $1,800 a year back then.
She’s retired now. Fixed income. Same house. Same neighborhood.
Property taxes are $24,000 a year.
That’s $2,000 a month.
On a house she already paid for.
She’s 71 years old and the government sends her a bill every year just to stay in her own home.
You never really own anything in America.
You just make payments to a different landlord.
So, duh, yeah -- YES! WE WANT JUSTICE for the rampant criminal and illegal injustices bashed over our heads and lives while @realDonaldTrump has been occupying OUR house. He belongs in JAIL! #WeWantJustice! Get over yourselves and #SupportUS!
SEC Rule S7-2026-15 would let public companies stop filing quarterly reports and hide financials for six months. Your savings are in those stocks. Comment is open right now.
#Texas, YOU deserve better than Lying, Cheating @KenPaxtonTX. Look at what he's done to #Texans: frees convicted child rapist; rips away woman's bodily autonomy; ability to pursue justice for bodily harm, domestic violence &, now, WILL take away voting rights etc etc #PleaseVOTE!
Since taking office, Ken Paxton has become a multi-millionaire while our pay has stagnated.
He owns 11 homes while most Texans can’t afford one.
He trades favors with rich donors while blocking overtime pay for workers.
Paxton doesn’t serve us — he serves himself.
A Pennsylvania farmer turned down a $15.7 million offer to keep his land from becoming a data center.
In Silver Spring Township, Mervin Raudabaugh was offered $60,000 per acre for his 261-acre (106-hectare) farm, a deal worth roughly $15.7 million. He refused.
Instead, he sold the development rights to the Lancaster Farmland Trust for just under $2 million, legally protecting the land for agricultural use forever.
“I was not interested in destroying my farms,” Raudabaugh told Fox 43. “That was the bottom line.”
His decision comes amid the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure across the United States. Data centers, the massive server farms that power artificial intelligence, require enormous amounts of land, electricity, and often water for cooling. As demand surges, developers are increasingly targeting farmland located near power infrastructure and population centers.
While such offers can be financially life-changing for farmers facing tight margins and rising costs, converting prime agricultural land to industrial use is almost always permanent.
Raudabaugh also expressed concern for local wildlife and the future of the surrounding countryside. “It breaks my heart,” he said, warning that without preservation efforts, little farmland may remain in the area.
NEW: Major posts are vacant. Waves of scientists are gone. Ebola looms. How RFK Jr. manages HHS:
“If the C.E.O. lacked deep expertise in the company’s business and the leaders of its most important divisions were missing, investors would revolt."
https://t.co/QTZtLMUmUl
The man running the agency responsible for 340 million Americans' health arrives at 10am, leaves by 4pm, skips his own division chief meetings, and when he does show up - scrolls his phone and gets described by colleagues as "checked out."
Ebola is spreading. Six Americans already exposed. He has not briefed himself with CDC scientists. His response to a reporter asking if he was worried: "Yeah, we're working on it."
The CDC is being run by a health economist with no public health experience who already has another full-time job running NIH. Half of the 27 NIH institutes have no permanent director. The top FDA drug regulator got fired in May - Kennedy found out after it happened.
When measles killed two children in Texas, the CDC official leading the response asked repeatedly to brief Kennedy. He was rebuffed every time.
The person actually running HHS operations is a longtime personal adviser whose policy spreadsheet - more than 50 items - is hidden from the department's own policy team. When Kennedy gets asked a question, his standing answer is "just run that by Stefanie."
This is not a management philosophy. This is a vacancy wearing a title.
That's a great observation.
The right's screaming outrage about DEI is not about qualifications, it's really all about racism
And this is proof positive right here.

If you ever had a relative, who was on hospice & wanted to die with dignity in their own home, this disgusting administration just made it so much harder
Cruelty is the point with Republicans in Congress
BREAKING: Fox News Just Spent 3 Straight Minutes Airing A Detailed Case For Corruption Inside The Trump Administration.
Think about that.
This wasn’t MSNBC.
This wasn’t CNN.
This was Fox News.
Rep. Jamie Raskin walked viewers through what he says is a pattern of corruption, conflicts of interest, and abuse of power inside the administration.
And Fox aired the entire thing.
When even Fox can no longer avoid the conversation, it suggests the story has become too large to simply ignore.
HEY MAGA! 🤣
I’ve been saying this from jump. The Reflecting Pool was going to end up looking like a green swamp, not blue. I just didn’t expect it to happen this fast.
One day after it was filled, there’s already a ton of algae.
And let’s be clear: this dude vacuuming the bottom is only part of the process. Without filtration and chemical treatment, the algae is here to stay.

“You are not numbers or case files.

The idea vaccines cause autism was invented by Andrew Wakefield in 1998 and was so thoroughly debunked he lost his license for gross malpractice
And here we are 27 years later RFK Jr dredging up the same nonsense
Such a tiresome waste of time
