Saw this and think that these are good leadership traits to follow and something that will mean we support each other all the better. Certainly something I’m going to try to follow.
Having a sense of autonomy at work (a level of control & independence over job tasks & work environment) makes a massive difference. It leads to a sense of accomplishment & wellbeing; it makes people feel more invested in their work so creates engagement; it makes people feel more trusted & valued & leads to greater productivity. 6 factors with the highest return on investment for amplifying autonomy across an organisation or system:

How many hours have we sat silently in conferences or lecture rooms listening to expert speakers? Education research suggests that this is less likely to create deep learning than the opportunity to talk about it with others. Studies show that students who are "chatty" but not deeply engaged learn more than those who are mentally engaged but silent. Let's talk more in professional events so we can make sense of the content & get better learning. Graphic via @ImpactWales

A BRILLIANT team sees other roles and departments within the same organisation as part of the team.
This shift in mindset is everything for leadership and culture.

A special thanks to our guest speakers for sharing their powerful stories this week. We couldn’t promote our safety messages without you all. #safedrive#stayalive

Thoughts of an IM resident on an off service EM block:
1) Holy wow EM providers are seeing a stunning volume of patients. I have no idea how they juggle so many patients at such variable stages in their workups and in acuity. It makes my head spin to try and keep up.
