If your child becomes a reader, roughly 80% of the educational task is already done. That's my honest assessment after working in education for over thirty years. Everything else is secondary. Most parents believe that science education is important. Yes, it is. But if you can't read your biology textbook, you're not going to learn biology.

Reading is the meta-skill that enables all other skills. History requires reading. Science requires reading. Even math increasingly requires reading as it becomes more sophisticated. The child who reads voraciously will grasp everything else. The child who doesn't will struggle with everything.

Over the weekend, the UN posted about Gaza twice, the ozone layer, hate speech online, Uganda, Syria, and World Hindi Day.

Not a single word about the hundreds of young Iranians slaughtered by the regime during protests.

Just one video reposted about Iran, saying that “those responsible for any violations must be held to account.”

1:14 of video carefully omitting the names of Khamenei or the IRGC. What’s the point of condemning the violence in Iran if the UN won’t say who’s responsible? Why is the UN so inclined to protect Khamenei’s terror regime?

What exactly is the role of the United Nations if not to defend the most vulnerable against terror regimes?
