Of course the Biden administration was investigating Gavin Newsom.

When Newsom went to China to meet with Xi Jinping, he wasn’t there for “business relations.” He was there to let the Chinese know that Joe Biden was in decline, that he would most likely become the Democrat nominee in 2024, and that China needed to back Newsom.

What did the Chinese do? Xi didn’t even meet with Newsom. Instead, they sent third- and fourth-tier officials to meet with him while warning the White House about Newsom’s ambitions and betrayal. In their own way, China essentially told the White House: “Come get your dog.”

So while Gavin Newsom publicly proclaimed, “I will never turn my back on Joe Biden,” he was measuring the drapes for 2024.

And I think while Iran will feign compliance with most of these issues, there will be enough instances of non-compliance that all options will be open whenever Pres. Trump believes he has the political capital to act.

The Regime did not collapse after weeks of bombing, which I think was the plan. There are disagreements now how long that would take, and what damage Iran might inflict on its Gulf neighbors while that process played out.

Trump was not going to put US boots on the ground or do serious damage to Iran's infrastructure risking significant civilian loss of life. The US and Israel have had complete air superiority over Iran for months, and have hit every meaningful military target.

Trump needed a "pause" and for the Strait to Hormuz to open for oil prices.

But he'll return to bombing them after they violate the deal and the political costs are lower.

I’m GENERALLY not a big believer in the 4D chess theory. And I’ve never been shy about publicly disagreeing with Trump or any other office holder. But I’m cautiously optimistic about where all this is headed.

Then let’s compare notes in December over the Iran deal.
It’s not Trump’s plan that ultimately matters. It’s not Bibi’s plan or the UN’s plan that matters.

My Perspective on the Future of US-Israel Relations, Iran, and American Politics. I have been receiving a lot of questions lately, but I want to be clear: my ideas, opinions, and predictions have not changed since day one. To clarify my stance, here is exactly what I believe:

1- Trump's primary role regarding Iran and Israel is mostly complete.
2-His core mission was to help eliminate nuclear threats to Israel, severely weaken Hamas and Hezbollah, and assist in returning the hostages.
3- It was never his role to finish Israel’s work for them, nor was it to force a regime change in Iran.
4- Because of this, we are seeing a break between Israel and America.
5- As a result of this transition, Israel will become far more independent. They will finish the job on their own and forge new alliances with Arab nations in the Middle East, as well as with India.
6- Trump's immediate focus needs to be "America First"—meaning he must look inward, take care of the American people and the economy, and focus on winning the upcoming midterms.
7- Inside Iran, the people will rise up on their own, and a full regime change will occur over the next two years.
8- Trump's next major conflict will be with China, unfolding just as he is preparing to leave office.
9- I predict the next President of the United States will be a non-white Republican—most likely Marco Rubio.
10- At that time, America and Israel will reconcile and once again become great allies.

Ultimately, I believe we are living in Messianic Times. We should all be grateful to God for saving Trump's life so that he could help bring us to this pivotal point. Shehecheyanu, v'kiyemanu, v'higiyanu lazman hazeh... I am incredibly optimistic, and I know that all of this is ultimately for the good.

I just had a very lengthy and productive discussion with @SEPeaceMissions @SteveWitkoff about the state of play regarding Iran.

After this discussion, it is my opinion that signing the MOU will be beneficial to the United States, in as much as the Strait of Hormuz will begin to open, and the hostilities with Iran will stop.

Whether or not the United States can reach an acceptable, verifiable deal with Iran regarding its nuclear program and other issues is yet to be determined, but I see little downside to trying.

The economic stability that comes from opening up the Strait and the cessation of hostilities could create a pathway to peace well beyond the Iranian conflict.

The expansion of the Abraham Accords and normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel is President Trump’s and my ultimate goal. I think that is best achieved by creating economic stability for the United States, the region and the world, as well as the cessation of hostilities.  The signing of the MOU is an essential step to make that happen and thus it is worthwhile.
